Re: Grand Californian

I have never stayed there because I live so close to Disneyland that there is no need for me to get a hotel room. Although my GF and I have been dying to spend the night there at least once. The inside is absolutely amazing. It is really pricy but I'm sure it's well worth the money.

I have said this before, and will say it again. It never ceases to amaze me that ordinary middle class people will shell out $300+ per night to stay at a Disney hotel.

One thing to keep in mind is that if you have someone in your group over the age of 60 you can get a 'Senior Discount'. While I realize that does not fit you and your girlfriend, it is a great deal - a 'Senior Discount' is 30%. Quite a lot and usually beats the AP rate and is offered all year. Perhaps next time invite Grandma/Grandpa?

Re: Grand Californian

I've stayed there twice - it's a great hotel, close to everything. But, I would never pay $200 + for a hotel room (any hotel room). We got a travel agent rate for $109.00 - I agree with Barry, spend some time on the grounds, and save your money for a nice dinner or something else. It's just a hotel room.
