    Re: Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor

There was one in the Mira Mesa area of San Diego and I thought they were the last one standing and just happened to live a 5 minute walk down the road from there. Everyone was surprised when I told them that there was still a Farrell's because they thought they had gone out of business. I told them, "all of them except that one have" I guess there were one or two more left.
When I go to Disneyland, I tune my FRS Radio to channel 2, without a quiet code. They're faster than a cell phone and you can talk to a whole group at a time, and you don't have to get everyone's cell phone number in advance.

I used to work at Farrells (over 20 years ago!), it was such a fun place.

Having Farrell's at DCA would be SO cool. I have loved that place for 25+ years. Probablly 30+ years!

Agreed. Having Farrell's at Downtown Disney would be superb. Sorry, nothing against Haagen Das, but they suck. They prices are way way to high and they are unfriendly.......and if you want to get Frozen Yogurt, well frankly, it's tasteless........

I think Farrell's would be a wonderful, family themed addition to Downtown Disney......and they better act could end up at GardenWalk

This is fantastic! I grew up in Hawaii (apparently one of the last bastions for Farrells now...) and we would have great birthday parties there. They had a huge "Zoo" sundae - that was a huge silver bowl filled with what must have been dozens of scoops of ice cream. They would carry it to your table through the restaurant on this stretcher-like conveyance.

Also, the first place I ever had a green river. Yum!

I hope they succeed in bringing back the chain. Ths site of the former "Burger Invasion" is available at DCA. If they could get it closer to the Paradise Pier area it would fit better as far as theming goes. I wonder if I'll be able to endulge in a pigs trough at DCA in the future?
