Trader Joe's has frozen ones and they are pretty darn good!
Yes, I have bought them from Trader Joes and from Target! I prefer the frozen ones from TJ's (less greasy than the ones form Target). On the package it doesn't say to prepare this way, but i just lightly spray a frying pan with Pam and cook them on med or med hi. In the oven they seem to come out mushy and sticking to the pan. If you do it on the stove they come out crispier and I think it might be a few min faster. My 15 month old son is obsessed with Sweet Potatoes and with any kind of fries so I try to give him Sweet Potato Fries instead of regular potato fries since it's a bit more nutritious.
The one restaurant I have had them at is in the Fashion Island food court. It's called Tacone. They have a huge variety of sauces and you can just serve yourself. I think I usually just prefer ranch, even though I like to try new stuff too.
I discovered these yesterday. I actually like them and feel good about eating them because of their nutrition facts. At first they seemed BLAH, but then as I continued eating more, they got better and better. For those who might like to try them, I got them at Target.
I had the Sweet Potato Fries at Black Angus Steakhouse last night. Once put in front of me at the table, I was very disappointed at it's lackluster presentation. But upon tasting them, along with the delicous maple and brown sugar dipping sauce, I'll have to say they were really very good. And I couldn't complain about the outrageously low price of $1.99!
