    Hook's Pointe vs. Storyteller's Cafe

Trying to add on another restaraunt to our list of places to try on our honeymoon. Since we'll be at the parks and the price is pretty exhorbitant the Napa Rose and steakhouse 55 we ruled out.

We do want to try somewhere else nice at the DLR. We already are planning on going to the Bayou.

Hook's Pointe and Storyteller's seem to on equal footing and competition. Anyone have a preference on which one is better?

Hook's Pointe is better but I'd rather eat at Storytellers.
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

hehe o that makes it an ultra tough decision. We'll let my fiancee decide. She can look at the menus and everything.

I think since we are planning on going to Bubba's.. maybe Hook's Pointe would be too much seafood in a row :-)

Hook's Pointe without question. We had dinner there on New Years Eve, excellent meal and service. Stoytellers is a place I takethe kids, Hooks has more of an adult vibe.

    ^^^^^^

    Yep, Hook's Pointe.

Besides, you don't HAVE to order the fish...

Oh yeah, and before you ask, they're about a 3 minute walk from each other. LOL

She said she didn't think she would like seafood back to back.. and we'll probably be goin to another seafood place when we are up in yosemite haha..

so I think despite hook's looking better we we'll go with storyteller's

Forgive my ignorance. I don't know where either are and it does not list either as dining options on Disney's website.
I would love to find out more info on both for my upcoming trip.

No problem gandalf. I was not to long ago like you> They are restaurants a small walk from the park at the Disneyland Hotel (Hook's Pointe) and the Grand Californian Hotel (Storyteller's Cafe)

If you want a comprehensive of all restaraunts in / walking distance from the parks you can go to: Disneyland Menus • DL & DCA Area Restaurants

for the Specific menus of Hook's Pointe go to:
Hook's Pointe Menu • Disneyland Restaurant Menus
    and for Storyteller's:
Storyteller's Cafe Menu • Disneyland Restaurant Menus

Re: Hook's Pointe vs. Storyteller's Cafe

    It's a tie between...

Hook's Point (for sea food and elegant service).

Storyteller's for it's three smorgysborg giganormous buffets (breakfast, lunch, dinner) Disney character interactions, and down-to-earth exceptional service.

Rainforest Cafe for it's reasonably priced creative meals, tropically themed immersive environment, aquarium, cool looking fake jungle animals, jungle sounds, great service, and tropically themed suvinere shop.

Don't miss the ESPN Zone right next to it. Lot's of fun things to do their. good food as well.

The Monorail station is directly on the other side of Rainforest.

Yackerz... You and that lucky bride of yours should try them all! Congratulations and many heartfelt wishes for your shared life together to be filled with happiness and love.

Re: Hook's Pointe vs. Storyteller's Cafe

I have been to both many times and it is a hard decision.

A couple of things I have noticed. HP - The service and food hasn't been as great since the renovation this last January. As for storytellers - Make sure they are running the buffet the night you want to go. I took my parents there last month my they were in town an the buffet was not running for dinner b/c of the low attendance. It has a very limited menu out side the buffet.

Given everything, as long as they are running the buffet, I would recommend Storytellers.

Really? I didn't know they offered a buffet.. what all is given in the buffet? Is the buffet GOOD or is it average run of the mill buffet food like a ponderosa?

I have never eaten at hook's point, but I will choose that over storytellers....considering out of the three times I have eaten at storyteller I got very sick twice.

6 months ago I had my gall bladder removed and I'm having a hard time eating at any place at the DLR. Everything has such a high fat content that without a gall bladder the food really makes me sick. I'm sure that wasn't your problem for getting sick 2 out of the 3 at storyteller?
