Re: Decent Italian food near the parks?

Marri's has always been considered (well, at least since I first heard about it circa 1970) THE place for Italian food in Anaheim. My family never much cared for it. Finding good Italian food in Anaheim has always been akin to finding fleas on a fish.

Pasta Connection off Chapman is pretty amazing... I think I'll make a stop there sometime during my stay here this week.

My favorite is Luigi's..they're off of Stage College and South St. My family has been going there since I was little.

Another vote for Luigi's d Italia. It's not fancy, it's family friendly, very inexpensive, and the food is genuine Italian. I've been going to Luigi's since before they moved to this location. Dominic, the dad of the family who own and run the place, is a larger-than-life character. It's great when he's working the dining room and stops by all the tables.

Forgot about Luigi's! Which I found shortly before moving out of town. It is good and wish we'd found it sooner. Another vote for Luigi's.

How funny..I used to go to the old location too..off of Lincoln. My Grandfather is friend's with the family. I have so many memories of that restaurant..it's kind of like the Disneyland of restaurants for me. Glad to see that there are some other Luigi's lovers!

There is an Old Spaghetti Factory in Newport Beach... I know you said you and your crew weren't going that far, but I thought I'd mention it in case anyone else was hunting for more places! I've been to several Old Spaghetti Factories and I quite like them.

I agree Marri's is great! I would also try Mama Cozza's in Anaheim.

See I love Buca di Beppo, so of course that's my recommendation. I've had real Italian and still think Bucas food is great. And it's close to the resort. Plus, the atmosphere can't be beat. It's very kitschy and entertaining.
