    Kind of a weird question...

I'm thinking of staying at the HoJo, and my boyfriend is not interested in any of my planning, but he absolutely loves 7-Eleven. I know there's one next to the Motel 6, is it a reasonable (less than half hour) walk from DL to the Motel 6?

There are 7-11s around for sure as well as many mini-marts. Have you tried plugging the 2 locations into a mapquest to see the distance?

I haven't, I'll try that now. I've heard so many great things about the HoJo, I don't want to stay at a Motel 6 just because it's right next door to "The Best Slurpee's in the World" <--My boyfriend's words.

    LOL!

If he's too lazy to help with setting things up, he can walk his butt to get a slurpee and slim jims!!

I agree, but when I told him there was a 7-Eleven possibly nearby, boy was he excited to look at Hotels with me. Haha.

    You're right, kinda weird...

Just kidding, but hopefully you can get him to try some of the foods in the DLR. If his expectations are already that low then Disneyland food might be a welcome surprise LOL.

It's not a weird question. You just have a boyfriend with weird taste.

    J/K

Seriously though, you may want to check out the Candy Cane Inn.

Anaheim Hotel near Disneyland Ca Candy Cane Inn

It's a nice little place just south of the park. It's actually on the same block, so not to far of a walk at all. It's located at the nicer side of the park area, and close to Garden Walk too. It even has it's own free shuttle (no stops at other hotels).

And the best part (for your boyfriend) is that there is a 7-11 almost right next door. There is one small shop (which is also a convenience store) in between.

How is their Continental breakfast? We're trying to only eat 1 meal at DL. (Probably lunch)

    From their website:

~Expanded continental breakfast buffet served poolside

Assorted cold cereals, variety of hot instant
oatmeal, wheat & white breads, assorted
muffins, croissants, bagels and tea cakes,
fresh whole fruit, coffee, tea, hot cocoa,
    orange juice and apple juice.

There is also two Ihop's and two Denny's within walking distance. A word of warning though. Their prices are a little higher than other Ihop's or Denny's. Probably because they are in the resort area.

Google 7-11 to find all the ones in the area. ART has busses that go by many of them in the area. Good luck and have fun.

You might also want to try the Desert Palms Inn and the Alpine Inn. They are just yards from that corner 7-11 on Katella. Alpine Inn is a budget place and the Desert Palms is an upgrade. Usually I eat only one meal at DL too and find it works best as a late lunch/early dinner thing. Good luck!

Are both of those close to outside restaurants? (Fast food included)

I suppose I can google it. Do you all have an opinion? Which is the best ($$ + Quality ) Hotel that's within walking distance, and close to good food places...(Anything inexpensive enough to not break my wallet since I'm the one paying for all of this...aren't I nice? I'm not sure if it shows more my love for my boyfriend and truly wanting him to see DL for the first time...or my own withdrawls. =P )

Re: Kind of a weird question...

You are exceedingly nice! The hotels are located at the far end of the park, DCA, next to the Timon parking lot I believe. It's about a 10 minute walk from the main gate or there is an ART stop right in front of the Desert Palms. The Palms has a restaurant and bar. If you walk to the corner, where the 7-11 is, and cross the street there are all kinds of restaurants and sandwich shops all the way to DL main Gate. The Alpine Inn is a good, kitchsy, budget choice and family run since it was built in the late '50's. (I liked it a lot) The Desert Palms is more expensive. (Never stayed there but saw the very impressive lobby) These two are right next to the 7-11.
If it were me and could afford it, I'd stay at the Candy Cane Inn. It was the best place I have stayed that was within walking distance to DL.

I did a Kayak search and here is what I found:
    Alpine Inn- $81
    Desert Palms- $134
Anabella (right across the street from 7-11 going south)- $120
Candy Cane Inn- generally about $120
