Wow Everyone! I am most certainly glad to know I am not alone! And the service wasn't great either!
I wish I would have seen all these reviews before hand, but I hadn't paid any attention to much threads if there were any posted in reference to Tortilla Joe's here at MC! :o
Jazz Kitchen is okay, a bit pricey with not too much of a selection, I think the portions are a bit small for the price. Thats just my opinion though! Rainforest is pricey but I just love it! The people are really nice who work there and the atomsphere is fun! fun! fun! Yum! I'm hungry already! ESPN has really good hot wings and steak too!
I havent been to Naples...That's where I'd like to go next, anyone have any reviews on that?
Naples isn't that great, either. I'll go back to TJ's before I go back to Naples. My pasta at Naples was very bland and I haven't been back since. My meals at TJ's have always been fine. Not great, but fine for a cavernous restaurant that turns out hundreds of plates of food per hour. Pretty much all the food at the "big box" restaurants at DTD is just mediocre. It's about atmosphere and convenience more than good food. I wish there were more tasty, reasonably priced options at DTD, but I don't expect it and dining there is always something of a compromise.
Hmm. We went to the window one getting-too-late-to-have-not-yet-eaten nights, b/c it was there, closeby, and fast. Got their various vegetarian things, and apart from being way too salty, we found it quite tasty!
I'm not saying it's authentic mexican food, but we liked it on its own. Got the Mexicone for me, DS got a burrito (first time ever he ate black beans! yay!), hubby got something...tasted good to us!
I have to agree that the Rainforest is one of the best. The food is good, the atmosphere is great, and the service is good. If we're bringing a new person, we always ask to sit by the gorilla. The look on their faces........Priceless!
My DL trips are usually 3 days, and we almost always have breakfast there each day before the park opens. The breakfast food is pretty good. The eggs are not very good, but I have chickens at home, so I guess my taste is a bit skewed here. Nothing can compare to actual farm-fresh eggs.
We usually have lunch there at least once, and dinner too. We always get the Volcano for desert. After getting stuffed with food, me and 4 teenage girls have a hard time finishing it!
I've never eaten at Tortilla Joes, and don't think I'll try it now. It's good to hear opinions of food places near DL, good, bad, or any other.
