Thumbs up Naples Italian Rest. Downtown Disney

We've eaten at Naples Restaurant Downtown Disney a few times now and I gotta say, the pizza is pretty good! Not the fast food pizza by the slice stuff...but if you sit down in the restaurant. They have a giant pizza that is about 3 feet wide by about a foot and a half...its huge. Its a thin crust cooked perfectly, sauce is tasty...They bake it in a woodfire oven and you can taste the difference. Average prices for this type of place but definately worth a try.

    Yummy!

Naples is the WORST restaurant I've ever been too.

The pizza was awful, they added way too much cheese and as you lifted a slice from the pie, all the ingreidents would fall off.

The service took too long for a big pizza pie that we couldn't even finish cause our stomachs couldn't handle it.

Naples should be replaced by something better.

Our last meal at Naples was a mixed bag. The Lasagna me and my brother had was dry and felt almost like cornbread in texture, and my sister's pasta was bland, but my dad's fettuccine and mom's gnocchi were amazing. The appetizer pizza we had was also very good, but after the lasagna we decided to skip dessert. We'll probably try it again come January.

The only time we've ever tried to eat there we were never appoached after being seated. We waited 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge that we were there then left.

we had a disgusting meal there, were served very small sodas and advised there would be a charge for a refill...we have not been back.

I guess this goes to show that everyone had different taste. I've eaten a lot of pizza and always looking for the best! There are very few decent pizza places in Orange County...There are a zillion pizza places, but most are mediocre at best.

There are two in Costa Mesa worth mentioning. 1) Nicks Pizza on Harbor Blvd. and 2) Haus of Pizza on Adams at Harbor.

I thought that Naples had a great crust, its hand tossed and the pizza is cooked in a woodfire oven which adds more flavor. The sauce is mild yet zesty enough to know its there. the cheese is not just some grated generic motzarella, its put down in chunks and spreads out, so there are some super cheesy parts, and some not so cheesy. Fresh chopped basil was the capper on this basic cheese pizza.

Unless you had the "pizza by the slice" next door (which does suck) i think you ought to give Naples another chance...

We liked Naples last time we were there. About... a year and a half ago. I agree about the pizza, the crust was thin and crispy, yet had a bit of yummy chewiness to it. The pizza sauce was not overbearingly thick like most pizza places, and we got our pie topped with chopped tomatoes, mozzarella and dollops of fresh ricotta which was so gooood. We didn't try any of the other entrees although they sounded good.

I will agree about the service, though. Our server was rushed the whole time we were there and took forever to get back to us when we needed something. I did observe that it seemed like the sections were kind of a large load per server, but you should still be getting good service regardless when your on your game.

Never had Olive Garden so I wouldn't know what it tastes like, but yeah I agree with you, I like pretty much any Italian restaurant except for Naples.

It's not bad, at least the pizza has lots of cheese. Usually places go cheap on the cheese with only bread and sauce.
