Re: French Dip Sandwich - Where can I get one?

Slightyly off topic here, but did they do away with the beef stew in the bread bowl too? Last time I was in the park I didn't see it anywhere (I was there on a Wed. and the little walk up right near pirates was closed, so I didn't look at the menu there).

The absolute hands down BEST french dip sandwich is served at Houston's. Closest one is Irvine ( I think) Its a thin carved prime rib on a perfectly toasted roll with out of this world au jus...geez. It is truly a culinary miracle how good it is.

I live down the street from a Houston's so I'll have to check it out sometime. I'm also down the street from The Hat so I ordered me a Roast Beef sandwich with au jus for $6.99. Big sack of fries for $2+

That was my first full meal after being sick all weekend.

I've heard many times of The Hat but never been there. Houston's will set you back more like $12 bucks for the sandwich...its kind of expensive.

If you're in HB, the closest HAT is probably Lake Forest. I'd recommend the Pastrami Dip sandwich and chili cheese fries. Make sure you have a buddy with you for ONE of those fries.

Meat inside bread is bad for you. Try a taste-free tofu dog instead!

(This tongue in cheek comment brought to you in lieu of a rant about forcing more healthful food options upon us, instead of merely offering them to those who want them.)

Arby's has a reasonably priced, absolutely delicious French dip.

How about Co-co's at Katella & West?
I couldn't be paid to eat at an ARby's and that's even if they were using real beef. Urgh.
