Thumbs up Pastrami Sand at The Hat. (OMG!)

First time to try a pastrami sandwich at "The Hat" in Brea today for lunch. Holy COW that was awesome!

An order of chili fries looks like it weighs 5lbs. ( I didn't order these)

What a treat! If you are in the area and like pastrami, its a MUST!

    Rave, Rave, Rave, etc...etc.....

Even better than the Pastrami sandwich is the Pastrami burger. Pastrami, Burger, Cheese, thousand island all throw together with a few veggies in one glorious mess. By far the best burger I have ever had.

I go to The Hat in Lake Forest regularly and also usually have the pastrami. Yummy!

I've seen people order what I call 'Super Chili Cheese Fries'. It's their regular chili cheese fries, topped with pastrami, then they pile on pickles and tomato. I've never tried it since I can barely handle the chili cheese fries on their own.

It's got a good mix of food. The chili dog is massive and the BBQ beef sandwich is messy but tasty. Don't forget the "Wet Fries", massive fries smothered in gravy!

Re: Pastrami Sand at The Hat. (OMG!)

Brea THE HAT was my first HAT experience and boy did I learn from that. My uncle and cousins were in town so my parents and my brother took them there, for the first time. (it was all of our first times there)

7 of us. Mom handed me a wad of cash and told me "just order for everyone" as they held the fort of the largest seating area available.

I order 7 pastrami sandwiches, 1 chili cheese fry, 1 wet fry, 1 onion rings, and FOUR REGULAR FRIES.

Okay, obviously this was my first time ordering for a family while NOT at a fast food establishment. That was an INSANE AMOUNT OF FOOD and of course we couldn't finish it.

But seriously, i love this place. Glad my parents live close to one, and glad I live down the street from another.

Holy Shnikeys!!! Lucky I was by myself so I just observed...ordered a sandwhich and a small drink. I really want to try the chili cheese fries, but I'll have to go with the whole family and only order ONE order.

My linemen buddies and I would each do that after football games in high school. I couldn't imagine any other time where being able to finish all of an order would be anywhere near possible.

I live pretty close to Pink's but would gladly trade it for the Hat!

It's probably for the best though as the pastrami is super detrimental to your long term health.

I think Pastrami may be the least of your health's worries there. That place is a caloric catastrophy but a taste bud parade. By parade I mean like the MSEP not C!ASP.

Nonsense, me and a buddy can easily finish one Chili Cheese Fry.
