    Tortilla Jo's

Family had dinner at Tortilla Joe's Wednesday Night. Was very disappointed in that they have changed their re-fried bean recipe. The beans were like a generic out of a can, very thin and flavorless. While everything else was very good (big relleno fan) served hot, the beans were almost warm.

Looking back, the service has slipped a bit. Certainly hope it was a "bad night".

I hope the margaritas are still good. I remember going with my cousin once and splitting a pitcher. The first ride we went on after lunch was the teacups. That was a great experience.

Went there a few weeks ago. Pretty bad service and the food is hohum for the price. Honestly, I'm never going back. By far the worst restaurant in DTD.

I went not too long ago, it literally tasted like taco bell on a nice plate...kind of sad. We used to get the food from the little to go window and take it back to DLH. Wonder if that's still good.

After the Gumball Rally fiasco from a few years ago, I doubt many MCers who remember it will go back.

I can't imagine any Southern Californian eating at Tortilla Jo's with all the great Mexican places in Orange County. I wish Splichal had put in an Argentine, Brazilian churrascaria or even Cuban rather than Mexican.

Basically, for the after party/awards ceremony for the Gumball Rally, it was held at Tortilla Jo's one year. However, there were several issues with the location, namely the lack of space due to TJ misrepresenting how many people could actually fit into the space. Add to that a chaotic buffet set up and the miscommunication between whether or not sodas were included, and it created a little bit of a bitter feeling about the place for anyone who was there. Of course, our MC staffers and the Gumball Rally event staff did a WONDERFUL job to make sure everyone was ok and that they were having a good time. All in all it was a great night and the company was much better than the venue, especially thanks to our mods and admins, but you'll notice we haven't had a party there again.

In addition to mediocre service and generic-tasting food, I got food poisoning there once. I agree that it's the worst restaurant in DTD.

I love that place. It better stay good! One time in 2003 my family was sitting on the patio and a Mexican Band came out and offered to play any song we'd like. Most authentic rendition of La Bamba I've ever enjoyed!
