If you're a Disney history buff, this is one you'll want to check out! The Tam O'Shanter is located just a couple miles from Griffith Park, on Los Feliz Blvd in Los Angeles.
I've been there a couple times now, once as part of a MiceChat meet, and once for a bridal shower. Both times I found the food and service to be excellent. The staff wear rather, well, adorable outfits, and the decor makes you feel like you're in some small Scottish castle up in the highlands.
Why is this recommended for Disney fans? The original Disney Studio used to be nearby and the animators came so frequently that the Tam was jokingly referred to as the "Studio Comissary". If you look around, you'll see some evidence of the close relationship between Disney and the restaurant's owners on the walls and in display cases.
And even if it didn't have a Disney connection, this restaurant is worth visiting for the food. It's owned by Lawry's, and we all know what that means kids: the prime rib is TO. DIE. FOR. For a more casual meal, come at lunch and have a prime rib sandwich.
This is a great restaurant to visit after a trip to the Griffith Park Carousel (where Walt first dreamed up Disneyland), and other Griffith Park destinations.
