Re: General IN-N-OUT

In-N-Out is about the best choice in the area - always great, always consistent, always made to order, always almost maniacally clean (I don't recall a store ever being lower than an A), and they are large enough that you can always find one nearby.

Of course, the waistline says that I only get a single cheese and small fries, and the drink is Diet. But even if you aren't getting a Double Double, it's still darned good.

Re: General IN-N-OUT

I can't stand in-n-out. Ever since they opened a location about a mile away from my house here in the North Bay I lost all interest in their food, which isn't really that good anyway compared to any real burger. I like my burgers big with not-so-salty meat and great toppings. Their fries are a joke, too. I don't know, everyone around me loves the place, but I think part of that is because other people say they love it.

I don't know, I grew up on real burgers, not fast food burgers. I love homemade burgers and restaurant style burgers. In-n-out is far from those great tasting burgers. Fast food burgers are sooo different than what I expect a burger to be that they should be separated in their own class; fast food burgers. In-n-out may be on the other end of the spectrum than McD's, but to be honest they are just as far from a great burger.

I think that the people who don't like In n Out's fries, are too used to eating frozen fries. In n Out's fries are REAL potatoes, cooked fresh. Some people are just not used to fresh food!

I actually don't like them as much, probably for that very reason (I expect if I was local, I'd get used to them more quickly!)

Re: General IN-N-OUT

I drove by an EMPTY In-N-Out last night about 9:30PM on Bristol heading up towards the 22. I was going to go in and get a Neopolitan shake and fries but for some reason I didn't. As soon as I passed the place I was regretting it. Still do.

Re: General IN-N-OUT

I liked In'N'Out, too. We ate there so many times during our trip to DLR/SoCal last summer.

I didnt see much in the Orange County/Disneyland area, though, but there seemed to be an In'N'Out everywhere in LA. I noticed more "Jack in the Box" locations in O.C., which is also good.

For a medium size chain they may be the best, but IMHO Tommy's is better.

I tried that once. Didn't see what the big deal was. Can't stand that when I bit into one of their burgers that more fell out of the burger than went inside my mouth. Too messy!

I agree... less crowded and more food for your buck. I also love Pink's... granted that is hotdogs but we are on the subject of Fast Food.

But isn't fast food supposed to be, oh, I dunno...fast? I went to Pinks once. Waited in line 45 minutes at 11PM on a weekday! Just to order a hot dog! Pure insanity!

My favorite thing at In and Out? The giant diet cokes for only a buck forty nine!

And their shakes are definitely the best of any fast food joint.

Tommy's? The chili takes like wax to me there. Gimme Weinerschnitzel if you need good chili.
