I have actually never had more than a single. Maybe someday I'll splurge on a double, but never a 4x4!

Re: General IN-N-OUT

Someone on the other page mentioned the Bible verses on the cups...there's one on all the hamburger wrappers too. I think the ones on the cups are John 3:16 and the ones on the wrappers are Revelations something.

I lived in Southern California until about six months ago, and you bet In-N-Out was a staple. Soooooo good...the only hamburgers I like, really. Although I didn't get them all the time because they were big (for me) and if I ate a whole one, I wouldn't have as much room for fries. Fresh fries drenched in salt and ketchup; yuuuuuum.

Last month my mom and I went back to California for a visit, and can you guess what was our first stop after getting of the plane...yep. I haven't seen any pics on this thread yet so, how about a lil' food envy?

The reference on the cup; couldn't get the camera to cooperate.

Nah, the patties are still smaller than most fast food joints' main burger. The double double is a good size but I'm still hungry after it!

Grilled cheese Animal Style - Oh. Yeah. I don't eat burgers, but they add enough lettuce, tomato, cheese, animal sauce and grilled onions to make up for it.

I loves me some fries Animal Style, too.

Re: General IN-N-OUT

I used to get double doubles all the time, they really aren't that huge. But I've gone to just a cheeseburger single now, no onions, add pickles.

I've just recently tried their shakes (like only a month ago I had my first one) and now it's a staple if it's over 90 outside and I'm on the road, have to stop at In n Out and get a larger vanilla shake. They have the perfect consistency, thin enough that you can actually drink it from the straw, but thick enough that it gives you a good struggle.

Being that I don't eat meat, dairy or anything fried anymore.. I could get a pickle-lettuce-tomatoe-onion "salad"!

I always thought the fries were weak. I love the fries at Red Robin.. big, thick chunky ones!

Good steak fries at Claim Jumper. Whenever I go, I always ask to sub steak fries in for the regular fries. Steak fries beat shoestring hands down, everytime.

You can get a veggie burger, it's the regular burger with no meat. It tastes almost exactly the same, which is to say it's really good.

Re: General IN-N-OUT

I was raised in the home town of In-N-Out (the one that is usually pictured on t-shirts & posters, now closed sadly enough) but ever since moving to Oakland in "98 it has been difficult to get to one.

Luckily they opened one by Pier 39 in SF, just went there two days ago & had a two.by.four, cheese fries, & pop. Brought back memories....

Now I know that the "secret" menu is no longer that, but do non Bp folks know about the special thing you do with the paper wrappin'???
