Hehehe, "pushed back" ha! I bet a lot of those places are being pushed back indefinitely!

I know, it's hilarious. I really get a kick out of it! Man i get so amused when stores and malls don't see much business. Whew, I think that's enough laughing for me today. It's just too funny.

Re: Anaheim GardenWalk Progress Thread

I do appreciate the updates on GardenWalk. It has so much potential there, but seems to be really struggling out of the gates. Maybe Summer 2009 will be better? I hope they get a bump this Christmas too, but I'm not so sure people will trek over there.

What kind of place is San Sai? Is it fast food, or sit down? Dressy or casual? I love Japanese, and it would be great to have something good and close to Disneyland without paying the rather pricy Yamabuki rates every time.

And how do we know an announcement is coming in mid October? Has Disney announced that? Or is it just a solid rumor?

As for Earth Hour, I have to say that last year during Earth Hour I purposely went around the house and turned every light fixture and lamp, every TV, and every appliance on that I could. The house was flooded in light inside and out. That Earth Hour thing has to be the silliest and most purposeless publicity stunt I've ever heard of! I'll be doing the same thing for Earth Hour this year too, assuming it will still be mentioned by the media in advance.

I too appreciate the updates being as I am 700 miles away. Also while I'm at it could someone give me directions to find the Movie theater and the Cheesecake Factory, coming from the entrance on Disney Way? I'll be at the resort in only 33 more days!

What I'm asking is how do I find the Movie Theaters and Cheesecake Factory coming in from Disney Way. Are they on street level, second level, basement, on the right halfway down?

Re: Anaheim GardenWalk Progress Thread

It's impossible to describe how to get to anything because of the poor layout. When you get to the entrance of the mall, just ask one of the 12 mall cops who are always wondering around with nothing to do. They will gladly show you to wherever you want to go.

Your welcome for the updates. And to clarify, I'm not a GardenWalk worshiper or feel sorry for it not doing too well. I'm just here to present the updates.

Second, I'm not too sure about San Sai, but off the website it says "quick and casual"

Third, the announcement in mid-October is official; if you look through some pages in this thread, InsiderAGW who works for GardenWalk gave me the news. Disney has not made any announcements about the plans yet. Also, don't get angry at me if the announcement is pushed back or even cancelled, because plans can always change.

Fourthly, I appreciated your post, up until the comments about Earth Hour. I do not wish to tell you what to do and I do not wish to get into a discussion about Earth Hour. This thread is about the Anaheim GardenWalk; I have already had to deal with many nay-sayers of Earth Hour in my other thread. So as a final thought, I don't like your attitude about Earth Hour, but I don't feel it necessary to change your opinion at the moment.

I'd like to get back on the right foot and answer any questions about the GardenWalk.

Coming in from the pedestrian entrance of Disney Way (Garden Gate) The Movie Experience is on your right. When you are in the Gala Garden, it is either on Level 1 (entrance level) or Level 2 (sorry I don't have the specifics but I believe it is Level 1. The Cheesecake Factory is located on Katella; from the Disney Way ped. entrance, walk straight thru the GardenWalk to the Katella entrance and it should be to your left near the corner of Clementine and Katella.

From the Disney Way parking entrance into the structure, it's a bit different. In the structure, I'm not quite sure of the layout and how to access the mall but once you enter the mall. Go north (towards Disney Way) for movies and south (towards Katella) for Cheesecake.

That's the best I got for you.

Re: Anaheim GardenWalk Progress Thread

We've been spending quite a bit of time at the Garden Walk even though there isn't much there. The restaurants are great, we LOVE the move theater, and the Wine Bar "Pop the Cork" is great! So, even though the mall looks empty, there is still a good reason to visit.

Given that many people are looking for ways to cut costs on their trips, try booking a hotel near the Garden Walk and try eating some of your meals there instead of the generally more expensive Disneyland Resort.

That isn't to say that there isn't expensive dining at the Garden Walk, they have both a Roy's and a McCormick and Schmick's.

I attended a fund-raising event at 300 called the Muzeo Bowling Ball on 8/26. Food and adult beverages were good and we received a t-shirt & tasteful tote bag.

Visit the Muzeo:

Here is an update:

Openings:

Sept. 11 - San Sai - if they approve their TCO.
Sept. 12 - Bar Louie
Sept. 15 - Rami Accessories
Sept. 16 - Momotree
Sept. 16 - Johnny Rockets
Sept. 19 - Madison & Co.
Oct. 15 - Tacone

Please realize that all openings are contingent to their TCO approval by the city, and fire marshal. (TCO) Temp. Occupancy.

We are at 60% Open and we should be at 85% open by November. The Hotel and Timeshares are still scheduled to begin construction at the beginning of the year.

We here at AGW appreciate any feedback you may have.

This is a project that is a work in progress and we do understand their are much work to be done here. It is very interesting to read all your posts and see from your own perceptive and your opinions of what the future will look like at the AGW. Working from the inside their are different views and opportunities that are forthcoming. All we ask here at AGW is your patience. We unfortunately did not anticipate to opening the mall during bad economic times and things are going slow to be expected. We are here for the long run.

Again, we are wrapping up negotiations and we should hear an announcement of Disneys and AGW involvement for the future.
