So I booked our trip, then realized I did not even think about transportation to and from LAX . Can some one tell me what is the least expensive transportation ?

Disneyland Express Bus, operated by Grayline. $28 r/t adults (w/online discount), $23 for child.
How many in your party? You might be able to get a limo service for more privacy and possibly cheaper.

There will be 4 of us the first leg of the trip, and 4 more people meeting us 2 days later.

Also, restriction on the bus service is that it is fixed. Limo service is when YOU want to be picked up and returned.
Limo <> a stretch limosine every time. Could be a town car, could be a van. But, it will be one price, instead of a per-person rate. That's why number in your party is an important variable.
I.e., one or two persons: bus or PrimeTime Shuttle/SuperShuttle.
three or more: limo.

They recommend limos.com. This site is simply a "sign your limo company to our service, and we'll coordinate your customers."

There are tons of agencies. Many are owner-operators. With that in mind, it seems hard to pick one without more info.
Anyone here who has had good service with a particular limo service, chime in.
I cannot, for the life of me, find a quote at all, without actually signing up for one. WDW seems to have standard rates.

We used Graylines and their Disney Express, it was a great thing. They pick you up at the airport, then then drop you off at your hotel. Its a great thing when you are tired from travelling all day. Plus its cheap.
Plus the bus itself is all decked out in Disney pictures...to cool.
