SD->LA->Bay Area->Sac That is all that matters, and that is the only place trains should stop. They can run slow locals that stop at midpoints if they want.

Time to reintroduce old news? Lots of proposals yield only a few contracts. It the way of things.

Would you be more likely to take the train if you could spend part of the commuting time in an onboard STARBUCKS?

L.A. METRO GREEN LINE South Bay Extension:

Exploring the South Bay Green Line Extension (KCET Depatures)
A look at the possible route and station locations of the light rail alternative for the Green Line Extension project, which is partially funded by Measure R. The light rail option would extend the Green Line along the old Harbor Subdivision rail right-of-way to a new transit center in Torrance. More funding would be needed to reach Torrance.

Thanks. Guys, now that I am living back in Europe, please contribute news to this thread.

For me, for you, for everybody. Im still keenly interested in the subject even though the Disney resorts in Paris are well connected to the region by rail.

The good news construction at the Artic Station. So in any case DLR will be seeing some impact.

I normally come down the 5 and don't get to that area. Does anyone have picture of the work there? I saw bulldozers but that was months ago.

As far as I'm concerned, ACE train expansion is all that I'm concerned about in Nor?Cal. AMTRAK already takes NorCal to the Grapevine, and buses us from there to LA. I would be fine with HSL not even being built anywhere in NorCal. The Bay Area and River City (Sac) can each get along just fine without it.

The State should just concentrate on having it meet up with NorCal AMTRAK trains and buses somewere in the vicinity of the Grapevine and LA, then build a line from LA to the ARCTIC station (with rapid transit DLR transportation taking trafic to anaheim and the park) and then fast tracking the construction of HSR to Las Vegas. Viva!

By skipping NorCal, the state would be in much better fiscal shape to build the bullet where it belongs, especially considering that SoCal area taxpayers are prepared to put their own money behind planning, construction and maintenance.
