Ugh. How about giving the contract to someone who will actually do the work? I like her a lot of the time but she also drives me crazy when she proves she's just a politician.

This is amazing. No cost is too high for progress in this case.

I read an interesting article about the stops on the Muni Line in SF. A friend, and I can't remember which friend had linked it on FB. So I wasn't able to dig it up.

It spoke about how people would exchange more stops for nicer stops.

I wonder how Anahiem will go about the décor of trolley stations. Form or function?

Wouldn't be as nice as a flyover monorail or "peoplemover" system.

Just enough that I don't care to read any of it.

Projects like this take a long time, and HSR is progressing. I'm sure we will see it happen eventually.

    Well they are doing something.

X Train Holdings Reaches Agreement to Operate Santa Fe Southern Railroad Excursion Services

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwired - Apr 23, 2014) - X Train Holdings (OTCQB: XTRN), and Santa Fe Southern Railway, Inc., a privately held company (SFSR) have entered into a contract by which XTRN will operate the SFSR passenger and special events services between Santa Fe and Lamy New Mexico. X Train Holdings, known as the X Train, a luxury train travel service featuring its "Club X" service, announced earlier this year their plan to partner with or acquire existing passenger rail services. Their plan unites these companies to provide consolidation of expenses and better access to capital for growth and infrastructure. According to the agreement, X Train Holdings agrees to operate the EXCURSION RAIL SERVICE of SFSR, and to provide the capital necessary to bring the track and equipment operational by taking over the passenger service contract rights. SFSR personnel will continue to provide the transportation services, and will be compensated by XTRN to operate the equipment.
"We are very pleased to be working with SFSR to see this historic rail service dating back to 1881 reinstated," stated Brian Harrington, Vice President Business Development, X Train Holdings. "We view this agreement with pride as we operate our plan to grow our affiliated businesses by adding value and strength from the X Train brand." The Santa Fe Southern Railway (SFSR) is a short line railroad in New Mexico. It carries passengers and freight between Lamy and Santa Fe, a distance of 18.1 miles. The railroad was featured recently in the AMC TV series Breaking Bad season 5.
"While SFSR will not receive any immediate cash from this transaction, it provides a way to restore a vital and living part of history, the rail service from the connection with AMTRAK, America's national passenger railway, to the historic capital of the southwest, Santa Fe. This has been the central goal of SFSR since its inception in 1992, and this contract provides the best way to offer the service on a sustainable, attractive basis," said Karl Ziebarth, Chairman and CEO of the SFSR.
    About X Train Holdings
Las Vegas Railway Express, Inc., d/b/a X Train Holdings (OTCQB: XTRN), has developed a robust infrastructure of call center, travel agency, logistics planning management, food & beverage, and unique passenger rail cars for the purpose of acquiring or affiliating with privately owned passenger rail companies under the X Train Holdings umbrella. Independently owned and operated passenger rail companies can enlist the services of X Train to grow market share, improve operating margins by consolidating costs, and providing access to capital for asset purchase, repair, and improvement. By consolidating either acquired companies and/or affiliated companies, X Train Holdings can create economies of scale for its array of member companies. X Train Holdings continues its development of the Southern California to Las Vegas corridor as well. X Train Holdings has a Board of Directors representing both the rail industry and Wall Street capital markets. For more information, please visit the Company website at www.vegasxtrain.com.
