That's too bad, because that is the best thing I've seen. Sure beats, monetarily, a second deck of freeway, subways, monorails, light-rail, etc.
I'd put them in the left lanes and not the right lanes. right lanes are for trucks. And, that would mean only one "stop" building instead of two.
    But then, I'm practical.
Think of it: The 405, from Santa Clarita to at least Century Blvd. The stop at Wilshire would be beneficial for VA Hospital and Federal Building, AND same buses would run from downtown to the sea. Another set of the same buses would go from The 405 down Century Blvd to LAX. Could have a stop at Saticoy Blvd, move Flyaway from Woodley Ave to Haskell, and voila! no buses.

Another car burst into flames trying to race under an overbus today on the 405.

    Please.
The bus is two lanes wide. Plenty of room under there.

Imagine trying to drive under and around a moving two story bus. Without your rear bumper being torn off as you change lanes.

And in the 60s people thought non-grade-seperated streetcars were dangerous.

You, who coasts down hills under buses, is giving me driving tips?

Haha, I don't think the world has good enough drivers to share the road with overbuses.

OK, we'll let China lead this venture. Guinea pigs. Or pot-bellied pigs.

I ran over some debris, slowed down and then had to come to a screeching halt last night on the freeway. Three cars were piled up in front of me in the fast lane, and I stopped a few feet away from hitting them. Luckily, I wasn't hit from behind and I was able to drive away without being a part of the accident.

Amid much political hand-wringing, California is getting $624 million in high-speed rail funds after the Obama administration took the money from other states, according to the Associated Press. "Both Ohio and Wisconsin have elected incoming Republican governors who oppose the rail projects. So [Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood] said he is awarding their money to rail projects in states that are eager to have it." Ohio's Gov.-elect John Kasich wanted to use $400 million in funds for other uses, like road construction, but the "law that authorized funding for high-speed rail projects stipulated that the funds can't be used for other purposes..."

After hearing the news, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger issued a statement applauding LaHood's bold move and further cheering on HSR in the state:
“California is leading the nation in bringing true high-speed rail to the U.S., and this award is another sign that we are on the right track toward breaking ground on this historic and critically needed infrastructure project. Building this system will be challenging, but it is clear that we have a strong partner in our federal government to bring economic strength, environmental benefits and job creation to California.”
According to the Governor's office, this most recent allocation of funds brings our state's to-date total of federal assistance to approximately $3.2 billion. Recently, the first leg of an ambitious HSR project to connect San Francisco with Anaheim was approved for the Central Valley.
