I guess they could build around the busway, very slowly. I recommend elevating at intersections.
Did the article say it would take three years to convert it to light rail???

Re: Mass Transit 2 the Disneyland Resort

With a promise of transforming Los Angeles tourism, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is coming to Universal Studios as part of the company’s $1.6 billion expansion of its theme park and backlot. But there’s another attraction coming, too—with a constituency as fanatical as any Hogwarts crowd.

In a deal pushed and brokered by Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, NBCUniversal has agreed to put $13.5 million into an effort to revitalize the Los Angeles River and complete a miles-long stretch of the river bikeway. And while the price-tag may seem small compared to the giant numbers behind the Potter venture and backlot expansion, it promises to be just as transformative in the worlds of alternative transportation and river restoration.

    No.
I would get it done that way, if I were dictator.
20 years for LA to get it done imo

they should look into converting it into guided trolly bus or a rubber tired tram system. Just need a single rail laid down the center of the right of way and the wire strung up. Sould be able to do that with minimal service disruption. Right, minimal disruption...

OK, so go up Figueroa instead of Flower.

Heck, turn northwest toward Dodger Stadium. Put a stop there, then go to Union Station.

EIR filed, Federal funds in place, red tape already in place.

New ideas have missed the train.

Am trying to figure out the bus system. I'm from Nor Cal and coming for 24th event. Wanted to take bus back into park that night since I know parking is going to be a nightmare. Thanks for the links!

OCTA link is around here someplace. Post #8 or something.

Seems they've changed their web site.
    http://www.octa.net/Bus-Transit/Overview/

    Here's the map. Looks easy!!
    http://www.octa.net/sysmap0512/index.html

    Short version:
    Route 50 on Katella
Route 83 to Laguna Hills Mall
    Route 43 on Harbor
Route 430 from Angels Stadium/Metrolink Station.

Oh, and all the ART routes.

There's some story about a vacuum tube and magnetic technology taking people 600mph across the country. Maybe I'll post it here.

And then you have Caruso who wants to extend the Grove trolley up to Cedars/Beverly Center and down to LACMA and the future Purple Line subway stop.
