    Dad in a wheelchair...need a GAC?

I have read some different things on the board and now I'm confused.

We are going to rent a wheelchair for my 81 yo father. He is somewhat ambulatory, but has balance problems and cannot stand for any length of time. I don't want to take the chance of him getting knocked over by the crowds.

Do we need to go to City hall for a GAC? Some people are of the opinion that the wheelchair is proof enough. Others say we need the GAC? I couldn't find anything on the DL site.

Also, what is the name of the company that rents the wheelchairs offsite and delivers to the hotels?

    Thanks! LOVE THESE BOARDS!!!!

The GAC certainly can't hurt. A lot of cast members seem happy to help even without it, but if you've got a few minutes to visit City Hall, it ought to help the rest of the day go even more smoothly for you and for the CMs who would otherwise have a slightly more difficult decision to make.

Go to City Hall... wouldn;t hurt and may prove to be less of a hassle later and while yer there, ask them for an "Honorary Citizen" button for him too, bet he enjoys that!

You won't need a GAC. The wheelchair will suffice. But do get him an Honorary Citizen button!!

As others said, as long you have some sort of visual aid (wheelchair), you don't need a gac. If you want to save yourself some time, they also do have the buttons available at the information booth at the end of Mainstreet near the adventureland entrance. As well as visible wait times for the more popular attractions
