Tips for Christmas time at Disneyland

Was wondering if anyone has a plan of action for doing Christmas time at Disneyland. We usually avoid the park when it's crowded, but are going to try it this year to see all the the festive stuff going on right now. What's the best strategy? Where and when should we stake out our spots for the parade and fireworks? Would like to see Fantasmic and maybe WOC, if they're having a special holiday version. We're going the day before Thanksgiving. Any help would be very appreciated =)

WoC would be good to see since it has a set capacity it doesn't get any more full when crowds get really big. If you are going for mutltiple night see WoC on the most crowded one. WoC does have a special holiday sement. Watch Fantasmic and the fireworks on the least crowded night.

For the fireworks you may need to wait an hour for a good view of the Castle. For Fantasmic see a later show, waiting near Splash and the Haunted Mansion for the first show to end is a good way to sneak in after the first show's crowd excits.

For the parade most people gravitate to Main Street and then the Hub. Watching from Townsquare may find you a spot with only a 15 minute wait. Near Smalll world may be even better.

If you want to see all three night shows, it will be tough, but not impossible. WoC first, stand near the rear of your viewing area and leave as soon as it ends. Don't get caught in the WoC crowd squeezing out of DCA, get in front of them.

Fireworks second, because of the short time between this and WoC, Fireworks will be starting close to when you enter DL. You may end up seeing them as you walk down main street because it's not likely there will be much room anywhere to stop. You might be lucky if you are solo or just one other person, but don't count on it if coming with kids. It will be tricky to watch for spots, walk and watch the fireworks at the same time, but it's likely to happen as you circle the hub looking for a place available to stop. If you see any big open areas they likely don't provide a view. After the fireworks go to Fantasmic like I suggested above.

Otherwise make good use of FP, it will be busy.
