Options to Getting to El Capitan Theatre from Anaheim

Me and my travel buddy are planning to attempt to see Peter Pan at the El Capitan Theatre on our trip in late January 2013. I am trying to come up with as many travel options as possible, though renting a car is looking like our best bet since the closest Amtrak station is a almost hour walk from the theatre. Any suggestions? We are staying at Anaheim Sheraton, close to Disneyland and would be going on a weekend day. Thanks!

I would say renting a car is your best bet.
in case you need directions, take the 5 north to the 101, exit Hollywood Blvd. Left on Hollywood Blvd.

You can take Amtrak or the Metro(commuter trains) to Union Station in LA. Then transfer at Union Station onto the subway red line which goes right under Hollywood Blvd.
