Anaheim Gardenwalk

Hi,

I really would like to visit Anaheim Gardenwalk this summer during my visit to Disneyland but unfortunately I won't have a car to go so I'd like to know if I could go to gardenwalk by walking there (without of course spending the day on the way) or if there was a shuttle from the disney hotels.I also heard that it was in a bad neigbourhood and that it would be better to skip it and go to Fashion island,is that true?
I also remember that last year there was shuttles from the paradise pier hotel to Costa Mesa South Coast Plaza so I'd like to know if there are still running and if there are shuttles to go to Fashion Island in Newport Beach and shuttles to go to the beach in newport beach from any of the disney hotels.
I also know there were shuttles to go to universal studios and I'd like to know if there are any shuttles to go to the warner bros studios in burbank.
I know it's a lot but it's difficult to move around without a car so I'm trying to make the most of it
Thanks so much for those informations.

Re: Anaheim Gardenwalk

You can walk to the Gardenwalk from Disneyland. You didn't mention which hotel your staying at, so I'll give you directions from Esplanade,

walk east toward Harbor Blvd,
Use the pedestrian crosswalk to cross Harbor Blvd
Turn right, and walk down to Disney Way
Turn Left on Disneyland Way,
Look for the Garden Walk on your right

It's not too long of a walk, and the entire area is hotels and restaurants
(you're not going through any residential areas to get to gardenwalk)

here is a thread about Gardenwalk that has some maps of the area.

Some stores haven't opened yet. I'm surprised they don't have a list of merchants , but I found this off of their leasing plan map:

Cheesecake Factory
Bubba Gump
California Pizza Kitchen
Roys
M&S Grill
Zara
P F Chang
Zara
Brooks Brothers
Chicos
Rocky Mountian Chocolate
Tommy Bahama
Kay Jewelers
White House/Black Market
Fresh Produce
Sunglass Hut
Georgiou
Skechers
Madison & company
G-Stage
Red Apparel
Aveda Retrospect
Verizon
Ann Taylor Loft
Harley Davidson
Runway 5
ONeills
Body Shop
Sertino Coffee Cafe
Fragrance Center
Hush Baby
Marble Slab
Robecs Juice
Nike
Metropark
H&M
V Generation
Hollister
Aeropostale
Bar Louie
Heat Ultra Lounge
Auntie Anne's
Cake Hhouse
Tacone Wraps
Sbarro's
Pop the Cork
Peking China Express
La Salsa
California Crisp
Submarina
San Sai Japanese Grill
Hawaiian BBQ
Great Steak & Potato
Cinnabon
Johnny Rockets
Cinemaopolis
Garden Spa
Mrs Fields
For the Fans
Momotree
Full of Scrap
Sun's Up
Fuzziwigs Candy Factory
Goody's Apparel
Rami Accessories
24 Hour Fitness
AMF Bowling
Heat Ultra Lounge

Re: Anaheim Gardenwalk

that thread would be mine.
If you're going to the Gardenwalk within the upcoming few weeks, don't expect much to do at this time. if you're going later in the summer, more stores will be open.
The only things open at the moment are the Sketchers Store, and six restaurants including Cheescake Factory, Roy's, California Pizza Kitchen, Bubba Gump, M&S Grill, and P.F. Chang's.

If you take the directions above, be aware that when you see the Gardenwalk entrance on Disney Way and you enter the mall, you have to walk through the whole mall to reach the six restaurants listed above; these restaurants are located along Katella. I don't know where the Sketchers Store is located though.

Re: Anaheim Gardenwalk

Is there any word on when they expect to be fully open? I'm going in the fall, and I wouldn't mind swinging by there for lunch.

If you just want to go to the restaurants and avoid the stores, what would be the best route to take? (to Bubba Gump) How long of a walk from the main gate?

Re: Anaheim Gardenwalk

The best way to avoid the shops is to walk down Katella.

Here is a marked map from the Main Entrance Plaza at Disneyland to Bubba Gump's.

http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2013968

As the map shows, just over 3/4 of a mile walk one way.

Re: Anaheim Gardenwalk

darkbeer's route is good, just walk exit the Esplanade on the east (near lion king tram) turn right and walk down Harbor (southbound) and when you reach Katella turn left (eastbound) and the GardenWalk should be on your left with the six restaurants including Bubba Gump on Katella (you don't have to go deep into the mall).

Also, if you change your mind about the shops, I have a complete list of all stores and eateries open in the GardenWalk. Just visit my thread that I will constantly be updating with new stores at the Anaheim GardenWalk Progress Thread. The latest opening was the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.

the way to get to the stores without having to walk down a busy street for a while would be to exit the Esplanade as said above, turn right onto Harbor (southbound), then turn left onto Disney Way (eastbound) and the GardenWalk should be on your right (across the street from a the Pinnochio Parking lot).

Re: Anaheim Gardenwalk

Thanks all for recommending routes.

Also, the restaurants are listed under "fine dining" on the Garden Walk site. Is there any special attire needed or will casual park going attire be fine?

not to my knowledge, i'm sure casual attire is fine. on the site, i think they only say fine dining to distinctly separate sit-down restaurants from counter-order eateries and ice cream shops.

some of my family went to the cheescake factory and really liked it. but all the other restaurants look good too.
