Come one, come all, to the grand opening (or perhaps re-opening) of my sports bar and grill, called "The Golden Mike".
We've got 50 large flat-screen HD TV's in the place, so you can watch any game you want. Or, almost all of the ESPN "family" of networks.
Back in the 1970's, the late Don Drysdale had a restaurant in Santa Ana, about 15 minutes south of the Big A and Disneyland, called "Don Drysdale's Dugout".
The booths were kinda like giant catcher's mitts, and the menu was dotted by different "favorites" of various players, especially the Angels since he was broadcasting their games then.
Ever since, I've had a dream of owning my own place, and calling it "The Golden Mike" because of my chosen profession.
Today's breakfast special...the Radiobarry Omelette, with lots of ham and a heaping helping of baloney. Rather cheesy, I know.
I see classic American food on my menu, with anything you care to drink.
So what'll you have?
While you're deciding, chew on this question from today's specials...
If you needed someone to make a last second basket from 15-20 feet out to save your life, in whose hands would you want the ball to be?
For me, it'd be Mr. Clutch, Zeke from Cabin Creek, Jerry West...a player so good he became a league's logo (the NBA's logo is a silhouette of him dribbling downcourt).
Honorable mentions would include, in no partic'lar order, Oscar Robertson, Kobe Bryant, Elgin Baylor, Walt Frazier, Rick Barry, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Robert Horry.
So glad you've found our new location, just off the first exit from the information superhighway.
Free eats and drinks for the ladies...every day is ladies day here...
