Aimster, I agree re: the Tigers game, and it's too bad stadium security did nothing to stop it. It's just not right, and is the sort of thing that will keep people from taking their kids to the ballpark.

I won't crow about the Sox game yesterday, as it's a long season, but I did enjoy seeing Ted throw out the first pitch (did anyone else know his grandfather threw out the first pitch to open Fenway Park?), and I thought the routine of having the players introduced by walking through the stands was a very nice touch.

I expect nothing less of Farnsworth. He sucks hairy donkey 'nads.

I'm still boggled that the Tigers thought he was an even trade for Pudge Rodriguez last summer.

Well, the Rays are killing the Red Sox 6-1 in the 8th inning. Peña & Longoria have both homered.

Yankees are losing their butts off again.

Royals get their first win of the year! Zack Greinke enters his name in the Cy Young Race...and no I'm not being sarcastic...okay maybe just a little.

Yippie for the 1st win in 09!

Cubs won yesterday, and the Sox lost. It's nice seeing the game being played again. I might even watch more Sox games on television now that Steve Stone is doing the announcing along with Hawk Harrelson, who has never been a favorite of mine.

The Cubs game was a slugfest. 11 runs were scored by the Cubs with Houston scoring 6. In a game like that, on one hand you figure the game is yours, and then again, you breathe a "sigh of relief" when it is over that the other team never did catch up to you.

Boy did the Angels blow one last night.

Good win for my boys in blue.

And, sadly, their starting pitcher was murdered after the game by a hit-and-run driver who ran a red light.

Yeah, I've been reading stuff about that all morning Pete. I'm terribly sad about it and feel horrible for his friends and family.

Wow, now I feel like a heel. The game is absolutely last on the list compared to this tragedy.

This gives me a weak stomach. Very sad news. My thoughts and prayers to his family and the Angels organization.

As I said in the RIP Nick Adenhart thread, my prayers and thoughts go out to him and his family and friends.

So, will tonight's Angel game be cancelled? Or will they still play it but have a moment of silence or something?

The Angles have cancelled tonights game, at the request of Nick Adenhart's family. It will be rescheduled for later in the year.

Such a shame, add my prayers to him and his family.

Obviously, you had no way of knowing about the news at that time. Besides, Nick pitched well enough to win.

It would have been very difficult to conceive of the Angels, or Oakland for that matter, being able to play tonight.

And to the others killed and the one still in ICU as of this writing, and, for me anyway, even for the idiot who caused all this - receiving only minor injuries (of course).

Don't feel bad, Clinks. I'm actually furious at the bullpen for blowing that lead. Of all the leads in the last 6 years that I wish we coulda held....
