You lost your "experienced" (in loud stadiums) QB and your should-be-in-NFL safety for the game.
I think every team is good enough to beat the USC that played that day. Timid play-calling, due in part to untested QB, and key injuries will beat you every day.
SC gets its chance to neutralize that loss next weekend in South Bend.

Yeah I don't think Arron Corp will be seeing any playing time anytime soon, maybe never again. We're definitly good enough to beat Notre Dame, again. It'll be a good game though, a close game

Oregon is probably the last big challenge USC faces this season.

Also, we beat Southern Miss by one touchdown. Guess that counts as a cupcake now?

I never claimed we were 4-0 for beating tough teams. The season has only just started.

1. These games are the only ones your college actually controls in the scheduling.
2. Yes. That is exactly one score difference. Southern Mississippi recently lost to UAB, who lost huge to Tex A&M and to Troy.
3. Not sure what your post is about, then. To me, it seemed to require a disclaimer, so I disclaimed. KU might as well be 0-0.

Just want to make sure you don't get your hopes up. Like various KSU teams in the past that scheduled cupcakes, got its fan base all excited, only to reveal eventually that it wasn't nearly as good as the cupcake-pumped record indicated. Mo did it last year, too.
KU has maybe two more wins in it. Cupcakes will get it a bowl trip. Whooptie.

Why do you think it required a disclaimer? This is the college football thread, just wanted to post an update about what's going on in my neck of the woods.

I have been going to KU football games for about four years now. I am not getting "all excited" over a couple of easy wins. I'm not sure why you're so defensive about KU. And yeah, we made it the Orange Bowl (and Insight Bowl last season but eh, whatever), and whether you wanna claim it on cupcakes or not, we still beat our competitor at the bowl game.

Sara, you are always welcome to post your feelings about K-U football here, anytime you want. Your team may not have the schedule to get into the conversation about sediment's seemingly beloved BCS system, but a win is a win is a win no matter who it's against.

And I think you meant the "Insight" Bowl. But I like yours "Incite" better! That's a "riot"!

Thanks for the correction, Barry! I knew it looked wrong, and I had the hardest time remembering the name last season too, haha.

And I know KU doesn't have the biggest name and best team out there, but we have a fun bunch of kids to watch and a fanbase with great energy. Though no one may care to hear about their wins or losses, I'll still be keeping this thread updated! After all, I bleed crimson and blue...

Re: College Football

Some decent possibilities: Ole Miss, LSU, UCLA, Arkansas, Air Force and Michigan.

Re: College Football

Does anyone think that Florida is on upset alert? cause from what I'm hearing Tim "Superman" might not get clearance to play this saturday. That could mean the LSU tigers might get that win IF tebow is not on the field.

Re: College Football

Kansas Jayhawks defeated the Iowa State Cyclones today 41-36. Fun, but extremely cold, game.

Some wins are more important than others. Evidence: Auburn's cupcake undefeated season of 2003 (I think). In short: they did not prove themselves worthy of the Title game over the other two. That is the only risk to a soft schedule. Unfortunately, the big reward is the share of bowl revenues for that one extra team in the conference with a 6-6 record.

And getting into some "playoff" system would require those important wins as well to be the 4th and not 5th seed or 8th and not 9th seed.
Actually, I prefer the pre-BCS method, where I'd have to watch every one of those major bowls to watch the potential "champion" instead of the exactly two (Rose Bowl and final game) I watch now.
