YES! sweating? might not the best word to describe what we were feeling, but at least its clean.

like a few others said, a win is a win, ugly or not.

saw some ugly wins and losses last year. would much rather have the ugly win.

Re: Let's Talk Football

Yup... its official. My team is the worst team in the world... second only to the Detroit Lions. Barry knows who I speak of...

Yes, my team is... the Rams. Or as even I refer to them, the Lambs.

I never lived in CA before becoming an adult, so I don't know why I adopted them has "my" team. But I've been rooting for them for as long as I remember, which is a long time because I watched football with my parents. So no matter where, they are, no matter how stupid, unprofessional, idiotic and insane they play, they are still my team.

But seriously... 12 men on the field when you would of gotten what would of probably been your only touch down of the game?? Pop Warner players play better than that!

Its going to be a long season.

Well actually for them, it will be short. In fact, they might as well just stay home the rest of the season and save themselves the humility and embarrassment. At least since I refuse to give Direct TV any extra money just to watch football, I will most likely be spared the pain of watching them lose every game the rest of the season.

Nfl - 2009/2010

Wow, no thread for the NFL this year?

Well, getting near the end of week 2 and my 49ers are 2-0 defeating two division rivals along the way.

Patriots should be 0-2 and don't look anywhere near as strong as they should.

Could we have a NY Jets vs. SF 49ers Superbowl???

(yes, I'm joking).

Oh, and to Norv Turner ... your habit of TERRIBLE play calling throughout your career continues. You gain 60 yards running for the day against the best run defense in the league. 4th down, game on the line and you run the ball, and make it OBVIOUS your doing so.

Re: Nfl - 2009/2010

Thank heaven for #52 - Ravens had quite a thriller today with their CBs letting Rivers get 400+ passing yards.

But their lack of running game came back to haunt them. Big plays will break something open, but kind of like Sugar, you can't live on it alone.

Ray Lewis with the last play crushed their attempt at collecting the first down like he was a VIP in the San Diego backfield.

Re: Nfl - 2009/2010

Did Barbarann start an NFL thread below? Maybe we could merge threads, but keep the NFL in the title.

In the mean time, I'm just dropping in to say that the Chargers officially need a new head coach. I mean...they needed one last year, but I think Norv Turner has just outdone himself with the worst play calling I've ever seen in my life.

Fire Norv.

Now.

I think the Bengals and the Browns flip-flopped somehow because the Bengals actually won a game (you can imagine the celebration around here) and the browns were just horrible!

Its why he was thrown out of Washington!

Given the final series - I think it's a toss up if you go for the endzone or the 1st down there.. it's hard to ignore the 1st down only two yards away. But that was the story of the Chargers the entire game, they never could come up with the short yardage.

The Raven's secondary was scorched, but came up with some big knock downs in the 4th quarter.

The Chargers absolutely KILLED themselves with those time management penalties.

0-4 in the red zone. What kept the Chargers in the game was field position from the big KO returns and the big pass play. Neither of which help you in the red zone, and that was the difference.

The Raven's secondary is weaker then it has been in the past, and that needs fixing.

Here's hoping the Lions have back to back "perfect" seasons.

I doubt that, they've been playing decent football, eventually that'll get them a win this season. Almost looked like they could have gotten one today.

As far as the Chargers go, I'm not worried about the loss. It's only week 2, and after losing big Jamal for the season. Hardwick and Vasquez missing from the O-line and now LT. We put up a good fight. LT would have helped in the redzone. But the Ravens' Defensive core is vicious, and even with Hardwick and Vasquez in, Rivers would have still been presured all day.

As for Norv? I don't know. I prefer Marty in the regular season, and Norv in the postseason, can we do that?

You have company, penguinsoda as I'm a Lambs fan as well. At least they only gave up 9 points today.

I'd be for that... Of course even though the Jets won today, I can't judge how good this season will be with 14 games left on the schedule, but there defense looks as good as advertised and Sanchez held up against Belichick's defensive schemes (unlike Pennington back in the day), so there is hope for us Jets fans.

1-1, looks a whole lot better, than 0-2 this morning. Not too many people figured that Jay Cutler would lead the Bears to a win over the defending Super Bowl Champs. The game when down to the very last seconds and was won by a Robbie Gould field goal. Final score Bears 17, Steelers 14.

Maybe I need to see "JerryWorld" in person. But from a distance all I see is another testament to Jerry Jones ego and largesse, where it's all about the luxury boxes and the PSLs and "price points". And on yeah, for a mere 30 bucks you can stand shoulder to shoulder with the "real fans" and get a view of the game...mostly on that seven-story monster video board.

Was NBC being paid by the "gush" by Jerrah last night? Geeze....

The best part was, the Giants spoiled his party, in the end.

Re: Let's Talk Football - NFL 2009/2010

Why does everybody talk about Tony Romo like he's such a good QB? What has he done??? Absolutely NOTHING.

On another note, I've been watching ESPN all morning waiting for highlights on the 49ers game and all I've seen are highlights from the Giants/Cowboys and Jets/Packers ... about 50 times.
