I really hate it when I catch watch the games on TV.. and the ravens blow the game on the final drive. Last week it was offense, this week it was defense. two in a row really hurts right now. Plus we got Minn (5-0) and Denver (5-0) coming up next.

Not a good weekend for Football for me

Denver wins and the Chargers are even in more trouble!

And my Fantasy team was a mess! Calvin Johnson gets hurt (doesn't matter, Culpepper can't throw.) Mike Sims-Walker sits out right before the game and I couldn't change it in time. And Atlanta destroys the 49ers so that eliminates the run game for Glen Coffee. Projected to have 135 points and I get 59! >.<

Re: Let's Talk Football - NFL 2009/2010

I couldn't help but notice this.

The Raiders lost to the Giants 44-7.

The Rams lost, big, again to the Vikings 38-10.

Who would win, assuming someone would, the "Out-of-L.A." bowl right now?

I caught Jim Hill at the end of CBS-2 Sports Central last night.

Earlier, Ch.2 had the Raider game, and when it got to be 38-7 New York, CBS cut away in Los Angeles to a closer game...Steelers-Lions. Trying to keep viewers from jumping to the tight Dallas-Kansas City game on FOX. Imagine the nerve.

Apparently, Raider nation even at that point flooded the phone lines of the TV station. Hill said, apologetically, that those decisions are made in New York and that there was nothing they could do about it.

Oh, those Raider fans...gotta love 'em...

Oh, and Lambs fans, chew on this...in today's LA Times.

Re: Let's Talk Football - NFL 2009/2010

The excuses are flying as to why the Chiefs almost beat the Cowboys yesterday.

"It's a tough place to play" being the excuse of choice.

Sorry, KC has lost 15 games in a row, any team that has any playoff and/or championship hopes shouldn't be almost losing to them.

As for the Lambs coming back to LA ... no thank you. Of course, having a 49ers game in SoCal once a year wouldn't be too bad I guess.

The Bucs are pathetic this year. We're on our way to a "perfect" season if they keep playing like pee-wee leaguers.

Well the Raven's certainly gave the Viking's some competition in the 2nd half, and while I'm happy the Viking's are still undefeated...things got way too close for comfort. They certainly need to get their defense in gear for the next game.

But none the less, I'd hate to be the Raven's kicker right now.

Re: Let's Talk Football - NFL 2009/2010

Yes, I actually watched the ravens game today with all of my uncles and father today. It was a great game to watch, but such a horrible game to lose like that.

The refs are so bad of late that they've been a factor in nearly all of the raven's games. That's just intolerable.

WTF is allowing a block in the back due to 'continuous contact'?? And how does shoving a guy down from behind equal continuous contact? Some offsides calls, a missed PI against the ravens, etc. It's deplorable.

The Raven's earned the right to win that game and the 4th quarter was awesome to watch. Unfortunately it will go down in history as another 'Farve 4th quarter come back' which it really wasn't at all.

My favorite line of the day...from Bob Papa on the NY Giants radio network, comparing the quarterback the Giants got crushed by today, compared to the guy they beat last week...

"Well he's certainly no JaMarcus Russell, I'll tell you that..."

Todd Haley finally gets win #1 as Chiefs' head coach.

KC is now 3-28 in their last 31 now! Yay!

In the battle of we-couldn't-leave-SoCal-fast enough teams, the "Traitors" now have a two-game lead, as they "shocked" the Eagles 13-9.

On a more serious note, I heard last week that former Los Angeles Ram running back Cullen Bryant passed away last week at the age of 58.

He was in the backfield with Vince Ferragamo and company on the one LA Ram team that played in a Super Bowl. It was SB 14 in January 1980, and the underdog Rams had a fourth quarter lead before Terry Bradshaw hit John Stallworth with that memorable TD pass, and the Steelers went on their fourth and final championship win during that era.

The Rams moved to Anaheim the following season. The deal to leave the Coliseum had already been consummated by Carroll Rosenbloom, before his "accidental" swimming death in July 1979, which in grand scheme of things marked the beginning of the end for the Los Angeles Rams.

my husband is a die hard Bucs fan. He's so upset with them this year. He's ready for them to get a new head coach. I keep telling him to keep his head up. Looks like they are in the running for #1 draft pick next year. Somehow..that doesn't really put a smile on his face. LOL

I gave up on my team...the Dolphins a LOOOONG time ago. Now, I mainly follow the Bucs, Colts, and Ravens. I can't believe that Raven game on Sunday. It aggravates me to no end when a kicker loses the game for a team. You're the kicker. You have ONE lousy job...to kick the ball through the field goal. And you can't manage to do that?! It's not like you have to run it in, or remember plays or dodge tackles. You do ONE thing. You better make dern sure you do that one thing perfectly.

Re: Let's Talk Football - NFL 2009/2010

I was saying 'I wish we still had stover' before they lined up for the kick.

I find it miserable we can barely get a kick off to the 10yr line most of the time. We have a great punter (who got no help on Sunday on downing the ball!) but our place kicker is pretty much the suck. No confidence in him and the kickoffs are deplorable.

As long as the Ravens can stay positive, and I thought they were really at risk of colapsing on Sunday, the 3 losses won't mean much to them. The 4th quarter on Sunday showed that the offense wasn't going to just roll over and die. Was a great game to watch. I'm glad I got to go watch it with all my uncles and father (all season pass owners) together.
