The Sunday night game between the Cardinals and the Giants is going to be a barn burner. For anyone who became a Warner-to-Fitzgerald fan during the play-offs last year, I can report they are back in full form. Cannot wait!

Going to the East Coast, facing a better Giants team coming off of an embarrassing loss - these guys are not the Seattle Seahawks. Giants win it in my view, probaby 10 points or more.

And I'm hoping thay one way or another FOX will be showing a baseball game Sunday night, that will have all my attention.

Re: Let's Talk Football - NFL 2009/2010

What do you guys think about the NFL games in London? Tomorrow, it's Tampa Bay "hosting" New England at Wembley Stadium. Should be a thriller.

Anyway, Commissioner Roger Goodell says he might envision a franchise there sometime in the next decade. Maybe even before the league returns to LA.

I don't see the great interest over there, for American football. But Goodell knows more than I do, I'm sure.

Jets took it to the Raiders today. Good to be in warmer weather for Sanchez to get a bounce back win. But he better get used to the cold. That new stadium that is close to being done doesn't have a retractable roof.

What a shame...I understand the need to globalize the NFL..but come on..L.A. needs a team too..I'm sure england can wait for a team..its been 15 years since LA has had a team. The commissoner should think about how profitable having an LA team would be for the NFL as well as for the city.

I would want to see LA get another team before England. I left AZ where we had a team, and have been here 10 years and still no NFL ... At least the Cowboys and Cards won.

Just to finish off a perfect sports weekend (not)...I would have won this week's football pool on total points, had it not been for the Redskins final touchdown tonight.

This, after the wrong New York team won last night.....arrrgh.

Er, um, care to rephrase Barry?

Manning was throwing INT's like dollars at a strip club. Warner was connecting and Hightower and Wells got some good runs in. Unlike how most sportscasters said the CARDINALS beat the Giants. The Giants didn't beat themselves!

Now with the schedule the cards have and if they continue to play the way they've been playing the Cards could go 12-4 and right back into the super Bowl!
Go Cards!

The Chicago Bears will be honoring Walter Payton today at Soldier Field. He died 10 years ago today. Walter Payton wore #34 for the Bears and is still one of the favorite players of fans of the Bears. My oldest son shares a birthday with Payton. He was born on July 25, 1954, and his life ended too early on November 1, 1999. 45 years is to young to die. Walter died from liver cancer.

Walter Payton's family wants to honor him with a statue. The details, and the location are still being worked out.

I remember watching Walter Payton play. He gave us all a lot of laughs and a lot of great football moments. I'll be watching the Bears game, especially today.

Well Barry assures me that my Lammies actually might have a snowballs chance of almost winning a game to day against the Detroit Kitty Kats...(I would of put something else, but the word filter won't let "that" word through) I mean Lions. Of course I won't see the game not only because its not televised on my TV but having worked part of a night shift and just getting home from work a short time ago, I will soon be sleeping.

History possibly being made and I have to sleep through it!

"Sweetness" deserves any and all honors. I hope they do a statue for him.

Hey Penguinsoda, it's time to celebrate with a drink!

Heck, make that a drinking binge because who knows when our team will win another.

And here at the last minute, I went against my better judgment and picked the Lions.

In my opinion, it's okay to say congratulations to the Rams fans on this board. Once upon a time I was one of you. No fan should have to endure a 17-game winless streak. (Or 26, in the case of long-time Tampa Bay fans).

I think it was wonderful the way the Bears honored "Sweetness" today. Emmitt Smith may have broken his record, but he played on mostly good teams while Payton played on a lot of bad ones, and one "Super" one.

Last I checked, the Raiders and Chargers were tied 7-7. What is this, revenge of the ex-LA nerds day?

And here's hoping for a Philadelphia sweep of New York today.

Gee, whatever happened to Green Bay delivering a blowout to the Vikings that most everyone has been predicting?

I believe the Vikings showed Green Bay that just because you were on a run from beating the Browns and the Lions...doesn't mean you can't easily take over a harder team.

And talk about a hangover - then they lose, somehow, to Tampa Bay.

Unbelievable.

Speaking of Tampa Bay - wish they'd keep those old "creamsicle" jerseys with "Buc Bruce"? (Thought I heard that mascot or logo name today) on the helmet.

Brings back memories of good old John McKay and "what about your team's execution, coach - I'm in favor of it".

With all these throwback jerseys this year, I'm at a loss to remember what some teams jerseys are supposed to look like, now.

I think the Chargers and Patriots should keep theirs and wear them now; the Jets should burn the old Titan ones, and maybe wear the ones from Namath's era.
