Watching the Angels and Yanks, some of the Yankees (just cause of their team colors) look like they'll be robbing a bank or knocking over a 7-11 after the game.

    The boys of summer, indeed.

LOL See Robinson Cano? Looks like a cross between Batman and like you said Barry, a bank robber.

Yankees win game 1. Tough loss for the Halos. Not a good defensive night at all.

I agree about Steiner... and it takes him forever to say what the score is. It drives me crazy when I have to tune in late and wait about 10 minutes for him to finally say the score. I don't enjoy listening to him and am really dreading the day we no longer have Vin around.

Re: It's Playoff Time! The 2009 Official Baseball Post-Season Thread

Perhaps relations between the Angels and the city of Anaheim remain a little bit strained.

According to a piece I saw in one of the New York papers, Mayor Bloomberg called Kurt Pringle to make of those city-to-city bets.

According to the article, and I believe it was in the Post so it must be true, Pringle's office replied..not interested.

    Hmmmmm....

Apparently you did not read my entire original post, which concluded with...Boys of Summer, indeed.

And we all know the reasons why it can't be avoided, but it's ridiculous to have such important games being played in conditions like we saw last year in Philadelphia, last week in Colorado, and this week in the East.

So shorten the season like I suggested at the beginning of the season. Oh yes, can't be done. Money runs baseball, not common sense. Then again, winners don't whine, when all is said and done.

Umm, would it be better if I mentioned that Erick Aybar looked liked a bank robber? Come on now, it's all out of good fun. Not trying to offend anyone here.

Look, I'm sorry. I don't mean to offend anyone. This game is too much of a classic to be arguing about the weather gear. Call a truce?
