Phillies win a nail-biter in Game 5. We're headed back to the Bronx.

Chase Utley is good in case anyone has forgotten. Utley with 2 HRs tonight, tied Reggie Jackson's 1977 record with 5 HRs in the WS.

It's not as bad watching them play the angels. I think it's because I don't hate the phillies. I still want the yankees to win though.

That was not a nail biter. I knew they would not win this game before it started. I'm just happy they got as many runs as they did.

Phillies aren't done just yet. If only we could have Lee pitch every game...

And have Utley take every at bat!

I have to agree with Radiobarry as well about Aikman being able to do a better job than McCarver who has become as much a caricature as John Madden the past few years.

Although I must say that Buck and even McCarver are good as guests on the ESPN Pardon the Interruption show.

There are times when I can picture Buck just wanting to punch McCarver in the nose during the broadcast.

I bring in my radio sometimes and listen to Jon Miller and Joe Morgan on ESPN Radio. Not everybody likes Morgan. I do. Much better than McCarver.

Anyway, here we are...ten minutes or so to first pitch in game 6....and it's quiet here!

I am wearing my Angels t-shirt (one of them) in support of the red of the Philadelphia Phillies. A win tonight and there's a game seven.

Anybody but the Yankees, please.

I know the Phillies really have the proverbial two chances of pulling this off (as far as winning the Series). But at least "slim" has yet to leave the building.

GO PHILLIES!

Not watching the game tonite, but I have my radio turned on, so they will keep me informed about what is happening. I'll just be glad when all is said and done and baseball is finally over for 09.

Yeah. I'm not big Jon Miller and Joe Morgan fans, but they are lightyears ahead of Buck and McCarver. I think Timmy got mixed up on the count when he declared that Jeter would be running on a full count...with only one out.

Re: It's Playoff Time! The 2009 Official Baseball Post-Season Thread

Along with being a top-notch commentator, McCarver is now a lip reading professional.

"...back door cutter."

Next half inning:
"...back door slider."

Congrats to the pinstripers.

They had the best team going in but you have to win the games and they did that.

It pains me to say this, but congrats to the Yankees. It was obvious they had the better team all year long.

Congrats Yankees. Next year, DODGERS! That is if pitchers don't stop shooting themselves in the leg.
