    Brett Farve Actually Retiring?

Reports: Brett Favre tells Minnesota Vikings he will retire - ESPN

    I don't believe it for a second.

And if it is true, even though I'm not a Vikings fan, I think it sucks that he waited this long to tell them when they could have gone after another QB.

This can only be resolved by an hour-long show.

Big problem is that he needs to let "the streak" go, and he needs to become the backup/mentor QB. I don't think he can do either. It's more in his nature to be The Underminer.

    True Story . . .

If Brett Farve comes out and says he's retiring. . .it means 3 more weeks of summer!

    Re: Brett Farve Actually Retiring?

All superathletes have huge egos, they'd have to in order to survive.

But Brett Favre is such an egomaniac, he doesn't seem to care about anyone but himself.

I don't believe these reports. I wouldn't believe it if he said those words himself - again - surrounded by the Vikings, President Obama, and the Pope.

I fully expect that he'll be under center for that Thursday night opener in New Orleans. And even if he's not there then, I still won't believe he's done for the year.

The thoughtful and professional thing is to let the team know in the spring - like Kurt Warner, for example - so they can plan accordingly. But no, this is Brett Favre...

Well I, for one, am sick of it. Rachel Nicholls can camp out on his lawn til New Years, for all I care.

So Farve so good. Brett's works the media every bit as well plays ball in the field. I'm glad that he stuck with it last year, and his team will certainly be one of those that I'm rooting for if he sticks with it for another season. I'm not waiting with baited breath, though.

Gotta love those Ed Werder interviews with Brett while the engine's running.

Scott's is missing a bet if they don't get signage rights for his lawn, with all those reporters there...

I think it's awful that he's stringing my Vikings along. They're counting on him to QB, then he says he's retiring. Then he'll come along and say, oh, yeah, just kidding.

Go away, Brett. Find somewhere that you can make a contribution that doesn't involve the media drama.

    Re: Brett Farve Actually Retiring?

So if Jared Allen, Ryan Longwell and Steve Hutchinson from the Vikings didn't make that trip to Mississippi, we'd still be waiting on Brett???? That is astounding even for him that the team has to go to him in person just to get an answer.
