Hope you had a nice time at Disneyland Barbaraan, it was great seeing you again.

I still don't really have any rooting priority in this one ... usually there is at least one team that I will root against, but not this year. Neither team really bothers me.

I did have a great time in California. It's a shame that it rained on Sunday for the big meet, so I didn't get to talk to a lot of people that day.

I am looking forward to the football game tomorrow. Have to root against the Packers.

Well, my son has decided he is going to root for the Steelers, so for the sake of fun, I'll root for the Packers.

I really like watching Aaron Rogers, so I'm a Packer girl for this one game.

People watch the Super Bowl for different reasons. Football should be entertaining after all.

    Re: The Super Bowl Thread

    Here's my two cents...

I am rooting for the Packers. For some reason, I've enjoyed watching Aaron Rodgers play ever since his days at Cal, when I got to see him in the Pac 10.

Gregg, I know that 49er fans are kicking themselves for not drafting him when he fell all the way to the bottom of the first round.

What can I say. The San Diego Chargers took Ryan Leaf over Peyton Manning in the draft of, I believe, 1998. And at that time, it seemed like the right move to me.

Back to the game. I am rooting for the Packers, and for some reason I cannot embrace Ben Roethlisberger.

Having said that, I think the Steelers win, in a close game they break open toward the end...perhaps something akin to 37-24.

I'd love to see a close game...love to see the first OT in Super Bowl history....love to see the Pack win by three, on a touchdown after the Steelers take the lead on an OT field goal.

That was two cents worth??? Here's a dime. Keep the change.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Thanks. Now that I have shoveled my snow, and bought some groceries, I can unwind and get ready for the game.

    Re: The Super Bowl Thread

I have no Chargers to root for, no friends playing in the game, no Raiders or Rams to root against. Each team has one fine Trojan. The Packers have 3 bRuins & Irish, but all three are on injured reserve. The Steelers have an Irish on the active roster. Plus, although Troy Polamalu is the best defensive player in the NFL and my favorite, he has 2 rings. Clay Matthews has 0. I'm gonna root for Clay. GO PACK GO!

I am always amazed at the varied number of reasons that people come up with for the team that they choose to root for in the Super Bowl.

    Re: The Super Bowl Thread

I used to go to a super bowl party where we would guess the score. I should have proposed that earlier in this thread. So let's see, Steelers 28, Packers 21.
