Phil Jackson has officialy retired as a head coach and the team has looked for potential candidates to fill in the head coach position.
3 possible candidates were interviewed. Brian Shaw, Mike Brown and Rick Aldeman (possibly the 3rd one) was interviewed well and Mike Brown today was official announced as the new head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers.
The former head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers had great sucess and had coached Lebron James during his time in Ohio. Well known for his defensive plays, he was named Coach of the Year in 2009 and lead the Cavs to their first Finals appearance in 2007. No doubt that he will adress the defensive problems that the team faced this season that resulted in a 2nd round sweep by the Mavs.
I welcome Mike Brown to LA and wish him great sucess in this franchise.
