    Re: 2012 NHL Playoffs Thread

Sharks beating the Kings in the last two games of the season is turning out to be a blessing in disguise.

Get the riot gear out Vancouver!

    Go Kings Go!

I'll be shocked if Torres isn't done for the season. He is one of the scummiest players to ever set foot on the ice at the NHL level. I hope Shanahan throws the book at this repeat offender. Total dirtbag.

What appeared to be an elimination game for the Penguins, turned out to be an extension and a blowout. The Penguins beat the Flyers 10-3 and the series is now 3-1 still Flyers.

Oh wow, the Canucks woke up in the 2nd period. Maybe, just maybe, this series is going back to Vancouver!

45 goals in four games in that series. That's insane.

IMO, the Penguins game was just a fluke and the Flyers are still in good shape.

The Kings on the other hand, it seems Vancouver got their confidence back and all the lucky bounces that were going the Kings way in games 1-3 went Vancouver's way last night. There were at least 2 occasions where the Kings had a shot hit the goal post without going in.

Hoping the Kings can take game 5 and not give the Canucks any more confidence.

So... Schneider is in, and Luongo is getting traded...
Vancouver Canucks are Cory Schneider's team now, as Roberto Luongo will be moved

Should've done it awhile back. Luo's goin' to play beach ball for another team.

Wow - Sharks - They played a good game last night, but not good enough. There is still a chance, but it's looking like it's going to be 1 and done for them. Another disappointing ending.

I just hope they can get the series back to SJ. Out in 5 will be a big disappointment and I think changes are inevitable this off season.

    Doesn't Luongo have a no-trade clause though?

I think it's incredibly short-sighted to trade Luongo. Every goalie goes through a rough patch.

He does, but would probably waive it in leiu of riding the pine. Vancouver now has two starting caliber goalies and, if Schneider is the number one, they're not gonna want to have 5 mil in cap space on the bench. But yeah... I think they need to mull this one over a bit and playoffs is probably the wrong time to make a major decision like that.

In other news around the league... Detroit is out!

And this one is over! Kings eliminate the Vancouver Canucks 4-1 and advance to the 2nd round.
