    NHL Stanley Cup Finals 2012

We've reached the Stanley Cup Finals and its turned out to be a Finals that no one expected. In the West, the Los Angeles Kings have made a surprising Cinderella run as an 8th seed, taking out the top 3 teams in the West to reach the Finals with ease. This is the first time since 1993 that they have reached the Stanley Cup Finals.

Meanwhile, the New Jersey Devils make their return to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time in 9 years. They had a challenging one, taking out the Panthers in 7 games, Flyers in 5 and took out the Rangers in 6.

    The LA Kings Playoff Run:

First Round: Eliminated the Vancouver Canucks in 5 games.

2nd Round: Swept the St Louis Blues in 4 Games

3rd Round: Eliminated the Phoenix Coyotes in 5 Games

The New Jersey Devils Playoff Run:

First Round: Eliminated the Florida Panthers in 7 games

2nd Round: Eliminated the Philadelphia Flyers in 5 Games

3rd Round: Eliminated the New York Rangers in 6 Games

Are you ready? Who will take it all?

    The Kings of course.

This is going to be an epic battle of two amazing goalies.

When it comes to the east, while I think the Rangers were the better "team", Brodeur was the better goalie.

But nobody has been on a tear as much as Quick has.

    My prediction: Kings in 6

Kings in 6. Possibly 5. SO excited for this matchup. Good news is that win or lose this series the Kings are getting a banner in staples

Today's the day. Puck drops in about 10 hours. Not sure how I'm going to be able to work today.

Good luck to all of us on the West Coast getting home to watch the game at 5:00.

Meh. I'm recording it, and catching up after I'm finished watching US Soccer vs Brazil.
No predictions from me. I want Kings in 4. No dragged-out drama for me, please. Too old, heart can't take it.

Oh, and I don't think I can take any of that NBC play-by-play guy. Oh, Brother Bob Miller, where art thou?

I cant stand Doc "driiiiiveeeee" Emrick, but he is better than Darren "holy jumpin" Pang. That guy is just horrible.

I wish NBC would show some class and allow Bob and Jim to call the games, at least for us living in the LA area.

    ^ Agreed.

And what's up with games 3/4 being on NBC Sports Network? This is the Stanley Cup FINAL. Come on NBC!!! I bet if the Rangers were in they would have figured out a way to put it on NBC.

Also, for those of us in SoCal, anybody else catch the HORRID Fred Roggin post game? First off, get Fred some HD camera's. It looked terrible. Second, how about Fred actually do some research on Hockey.

Best line of Kopi's post-game interview: When asked why he went backhand he replied "I went forehand". How about the national media get some people in the press room who actually know about hockey?

    1. "America's Got Talent" is too important to take off the air for a week.
    2. I think that no one wants to see Fred Roggin in High Def.
    3. Probably some east coast reporter who's never seen The Kings play. Or Plaschke. Kopitar is one of the best players in the game today. People following the game should know he's left-handed.

Kopitar has been my favorite King for awhile. Glad to see he's finally getting the recognition he deserves.

As for the AGT thing ... then they should have had game 2 tonight, game 3 Sunday and game 4 on Wednesday. Problem solved.

Tonight they only have "Friends Forever" and "Dateline". They could have done Sunday's game earlier to avoid the Adele thing and Miss USA.

I like Doc, but still think it's sad that Bob isn't at least doing radio for the Kings in the Finals.

I've been a Kings fan since the beginning.

An intense 2 games and the Kings once again dominated on the road despite having some struggles. The Devils also had plenty of flaws.

The Kings are up 2-0 and GM 3 is set for tomorrow at the Staples Center! If all goes well, LA can win the cup on Wednesday!

Re: NHL Stanley Cup Finals 2012

And in other "NBC Sucks" news, games 3 and 4 are on NBC Sports Network only. Not going to impact me but it will impact my MIL since she has Time Warner and I guess NBCSN is only available in HD? I looked for it on her TV yesterday and couldn't find it.

If Time Warner was decent they'd make the station available for everybody for the duration of the series.

It's sad that the Kings are having one of the best runs in sports HISTORY and nobody is seeing it because of the NHL's horrid TV deal with NBC.
