I might put Carew at first over Joyner. But it's not a strong disagreement certainly. Otherwise, Chad you have come up with the same Los Angeles/California/Anaheim/Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim all-time team that I would.

Well, you guys sure fattened up against KC, going 5-2....Grr! Hope the second half brings us something to cheer about for the Angels and my Royals!

I was thinking the exact same thing about Carew, but it was his attitude at the time he played here that put Wally ahead. Since the issues with his daughter, he's become a more caring man that I truly respect.

Giant and Angel fans have to be pretty upset about the year. Bad teams.

Can't be much worse than my team, the Marlins. We're currently the second worst team in all of MLB with a winning percentage of .399. Only the White Sox are worse than us at a .377 percentage.

Re: The 2013 Major League Baseball Thread

My Royals have been hot since the All Star Break. First time in a decade we've been relevant this late into the season. 15-4 so far in the second half. 15-4....and we've actually lost a couple games on Detroit because they've been hot too.

But 8.5 GB of the Central. 5 GB of a wild card spot. Hope they keep it up. I think I've paid my dues as a Royals fan! It's time I get to experience some excitement in August/September!

Re: The 2013 Major League Baseball Thread

15 days since the post above ^^ KC is going down the toilet again. So much for that excitement in August/September....5-straight loses, loser of 8 in our last 10, including 2 loses against the Marlins and 3 loses against the White Sox.

Excuse me while I lock myself in the bedroom to cry.

Well atleast KC isn't in the "Cellar League" like my Marlins are. Right now our league consists of the Giants, Marlins, White Sox, Cubs, Astros, and Blue Jays. The Yankees aren't that far away which puts a smile on my face. I never really liked the Yankees anyway.

You've got some nice pieces in Miami. I got to see that Fernandez kid in person and he's going to be a bonafied ace. Christian Yelich looks like a nice player and of course, you've still got Giancarlo.

September is upon us! This is when it gets good. Particularly the AL Wild Card race. Heck, even my Royals aren't technically dead and buried yet. KC is 4.5 GB of the WC, behind four other teams fighting for one of the spots.

Re: The 2013 Major League Baseball Thread

It's so easy to root for underdog teams like KC, Tampa, Pirates etc. I love seeing new blood taking down the big payroll teams. Seeing Teams being very active at the deadline like Baltimore and Pittsburgh breathes life into the MLB IMO.
