I don't know about a lot of Chicago people. I do know that I root for all the Chicago teams, even the Sox who have won recently. I am still hoping that the Cubs will do it in my lifetime.
Tonite the Blackhawks are on, and I guess the Bears are having their bye week this week.

Watched part of the LA Kings - Blackhawks game the other night.
Thank you POISONEDAPPLES!

Blazers beat the Knicks
both teams undefeated this year![]()

That offense the Ducks run is like a hybrid of fast-break basketball, and football. It certainly is kinda fun to watch. I was starting to think that tonight's game should have been plaed at USC's Galen Center instead of the Coliseum.![]()
Thank you POISONEDAPPLES!
So as of tomorrow, NFL games will have been played in Toronto and London this season.
But not Los Angeles.

Well, Saturday Night I went to a NBA basketball game at the Rose Garden here in Portland Oregon.....we were playing the Toronto Raptors and as the Candadian National Anthem was being sung I couldn't help but wonder about the fact that a couple hunderd yards away in the old Memorial Colisieum a WHL(Tier I Hockey) game was taking place between the Winterhawks and the Everett Silbertips.
So, as we in the Rose Garden looked down on the floor while 24 Basketball Players who were not born in Candada stood for the Candadian Anthem, nearly 40 young Canadians stood on a sheet of ice with no Canadian Flag in view.
Just struck me as kinda funny....

Who's praying that Aurburn loses to Georgia tomorrow, so we can have an Oregon vs TCU BCS championship game? Which would quite possibly be the greatest game of my lifetime
Thank you POISONEDAPPLES!
I admit to knowing nothing about what I assume is a College football question.
My morning newspapers has news of the renovation of Wrigley Field. Fine fix the place up if you like, but the owners should pay for it. Not the fans, and certainly not the taxpayers. I got my property tax bill today, and taxes, all different kinds of taxes are hard to handle. The older we get, the more my husband and I realize we probably should have planned a little better for this old age we are approaching.
Sandburg, that's Ryne Sandburg has declined to work for the Cubs. I guess he's not happy about not getting a Major League job with the team that he earned his Hall of Fame status on.
I was wondering the other day just how long it is before Sammy, that's Sammy Sosa has before his name get's voted on for the Hall of Fame.
I guess the bears will lose to the Vikings. I will still be watching though.
The Blackhawks are not doing so great. Way too many points in the loss column. My grandson says grandma, last year, they were about at this same place, and they got better. True, maybe, but it's hard seeing them so far down in the standings.
See ya, sports fans.

About hockey...I had to make sure I wasn't seeing a misprint in my morning paper.
Kings, first, Ducks right there with them in their division? Southern California teams?
There's a definite LA-Anaheim rivalry. I know for a fact that many in the Kings organization seethed when the Ducks won the Cup.
At 11-3, the Kings are off to their best start in 36 years.
Like with the Angels in '02, I'm just gonna do my best to enjoy the Kings ride from game to game, and keep any expectations in perspective. They have one thing in common...a colleague of mine, David Courtney, does PA for both teams as well as the Clippers of the NBA now.
I know that the Cubs played well down the stretch under Quade, but did they make a mistake not hiring Sandberg? Time will tell.
It will be a long time before Mark McGwire, Barry Bonds, Sosa or any others from the steroid era get voted into the Hall. Right or wrong, that's how I see it.
Thank you POISONEDAPPLES!
As much as everyone loves Ryne Sandburg, he comes with the stigma attached of never playing on a World Series team. Hey, the only Cubs players that have done that had to go to other teams to accomplish that feat. One year managing in the Minors doesn't constitute a good manager. Sure Sandburg was the popular choice, but popularity doesn't mean a hill of beans in the win/loss column.

Did you watch the "Undercover Boss" show last week? The subject was one of the Cubs top brass, going "undercover" to observe day to day operations of Wrigley Field. I like the show, but haven't watched that episode yet.
