Re: Stop By, and Say Hi, Sports Fans!

It's been a really long time since I have posted in here. I guess I better show some interest, or they may shut me down.

It is raining in Chicago. That means that the football game at Soldier Field today should be interesting. The Bears are playing the Minnesota Vikings. I just happen to be a Bears Fan. My family is a bit strange when it comes to the football teams that they root for. My sister in law roots for the Vikings, and that goes back to days when they were called "The Purple People Eaters".. My late brother loved the Cardinals, and that goes back even further. It goes back to the days that they were the Chicago Cardinals. I have a nephew who loves the Buffalo Bills. The reason? Not sure. Probably a hot team at the time he discovered the game of football was fun to watch. Their's a niece name Raven, and yes, she is a Raven fan.

I am on my way out to a late Sunday breakfast, and will have the TV on for the beginning of the game.

By the way, I love the commercial about the Wisconsin football player, and the witch from the Wizard of OZ. Check out those cool red shoes.

I am not a Dodger fan per se, but since I get paid to board op their games on a local radio station as long as they are in the playoffs, I say "Go Blue"!

Not me. My favorite team in the 60's and 70's was the Rams, and the Cowboys were among the teams to deny them a shot at a championship. As for the current team, until Jerry Jones finds someone else to be his GM and make football decisions, they will be mediocre at best.

It seems odd to be watching football on a Thursday night. However, the Bears are on, and playing the Giants. At the moment, they are ahead by a touchdown.

    Bears won!

Sure, the Packer quarterback got injured, but the Bears still won.

I am watching Monday Night Football. It is almost 1/2 time, when Mike Ditka will be honored. The Bears are retiring his #89 tonite. It is cold in Chicago. The Bears are playing the Cowboys, another team that Mike Ditka played for. Seems fitting.

I post here so seldom. However, in order to keep this thread alive.

The Blackhawks game ended in an exciting shootout against St. Louis.

Lots of goals were scored in this game. 5 by each team in order to force the Shootout.

At least Chicago has one exciting sports team. I really doubt the Bears will go far, if/when they make the post season.

    Super Bowl Sunday.

    Will I be watching? Perhaps.

My pick? I'll go with the coach. He picked the Broncos. I guess the game deserves to at least be on, if only to check out the commercials. Isn't that what lots of people say?
