The first AFL-NFL Championship game was the Green Bay-Kansas City game in LA. It was my remembrance that the term "Super Bowl" was not actually used until that second AFL-NFL Title game in Miami, also won by the Packers.
The term "Super Bowl" was coined by the late owner Lamar Hunt of the old AFL Kansas City Chiefs, who the story goes thought of the name after seeing his young daughter playing with a Wham-O super-energized ball called a "super ball."
And the next year, in Super Bowl 3, Joe Namath and the Jets shocked the world and football was changed forever.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
