Re: 1/23: Toy Story

Great write up Sue. I'm looking forward to seeing a newly restored Pinnochio.

As for Al's note.

I read the Amazon link and I can't help but wonder how a "Classic Animation Buff" doesn't know that the Birdcage Pinnochio gets kept in doesn't belong to Gepetto, but to Stromboli.

My thoughts exactly. It would be a shame though if the film is altered.

I remember seeing this film as a kid and it scared the daylights out of me. I had nightmares of turning into a donkey for weeks. It is a great film to be sure but I never had a desire to visit Pleasure Isalnd.

What an interesting man Dick Jones is. Seems like everyone that Walt has worked with is as genuine as the day is long. This stands as a very high testament to Mr. Disney. The process of animation is fascinating, and you did a fantastic job of relating the El Capitan event elequently yet clearly. I'll look forward to watching the restored film on dvd. Thank you, Sue.

How fun it would be to watch a film such as pinochio along with live organ music.
