![]() | Re: About monorail widget (Merged threads) So, what does everyone think about the link? I am thinking this style is what the final release of DM7MW-2.0 will look similar to. It would have the color graph on the back of the widget. The composition could be controlled by the graph, the keyboard, the mid-monorail segments, and the arrow keys. Any ideas to improve??? Unfortunately, anything stated can't be done by me at the current time, because I am across the nation, and stuck only with a PC. --KAN

![]() | Re: About monorail widget (Merged threads) UPDATE: So, I was just at the Resort, and filmed some footage for the widget! So, that means things are looking good for the DM7MW right now! I really don't know if anyone ever checks this thread anymore, but I think I would really like to pull out this project and dust it off again. That'd be nice if we all started working like we used to now! If anyone is reading this, would you mind posting a shout out?SOS, --KAN |

![]() | Re: About monorail widget (Merged threads) KAN, I found this thread by chance and looked at it because of the Monorail connection. I have a pc so I couldn't try the Mac version, but tried the test version. I think I lean more to the blue range of colors. impressive work. ![]() I read/scanned through most of the posts. I have to say that I understood only 1/10 of what was there, so I don't think I could be of any help to your project. good luck, Gary. |

![]() | Re: About monorail widget (Merged threads) Gary, it's nice to know there is someone still out there! Don't worry, I'm hoping to release a PC version soon, using a widget emulation service, or some creative use of the newest styling animation (Apple just released it with their new Safari 4, and you can get a PC version of that). We will have to see how things turn out. And really, don't only thank me, kudos to the rest of the great crew who worked on this project. And Gary, BTW, this may seem complex, but once you start getting into HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, it all becomes a breeze. Do you know any computer languages? They're a fun hobby for nerds like me. ![]() Wow, just realized I used a lot of smileys in this post. ![]() --KAN |

![]() | Re: About monorail widget (Merged threads) KAN, I looked up your location. did you move your house? all I saw was a mouse. ![]() I know it's a cliche, but I'm like Dinosaur Jack, ready to be torn down and carted away. I've done a little HTML a few years ago when I managed a team. just enough to put some graphics and tables on the screen. before that I started to learn machine language for the Atari 800, but that didn't go well. and long before that I wrote programs in BASIC and FORTRAN. the FORTRAN programing was done on punch cards. these days I'm basically just a user. the most I get into is changing components form time to time. Gary. |

![]() | Re: About monorail widget (Merged threads) I will go ahead and say this project has gathered too many cobwebs. I will probably let this thread fall to the MC three month thread eater if everyone has lost interest in the project. Sad to say, but it just doesn't seem like there is anything more in this thread, but me just talking to myself. It was fun working on this while it lasted, and I really appreciate all the hard work and effort everyone has put into it. I suppose I can always ask a mod to reopen this thread if ver2.0 ever rolls around... Haha, I just made a YAG(T)E. ![]() -Good luck to anyone who finds an old folder and wishes to resume the project... --KAN

![]() | Re: About monorail widget (Merged threads) Twas fun! I'm still doing a LOT of work in Quartz. Such an amazing architecture. But it certainly isn't ideal for something that is meant to be cross-platform. I still think a Monorail Pilot simulator would be a fun side project, letting folks like myself sit behind the joystick of some of the world's most-travelled monorails trains. However, I don't have near the time for that at the moment. Thanks to all who contributed. The project was fun, and I've still got all the source code sitting on my server in case someone decides to resurrect it someday.
