    Wall-E Digital Copy Woes

Hey, just out of curiousity, has anyone else obtained the 3 disk set of Wall-E and tried to copy over the "digital edition" to a device?

I've tried, using WMV, and it just does not work. It continually claims I do not have the most recent version of WMV (I do), and won't let me enter in the code.

I realize it's pointless to complain to them, but will be interested to learn if anyone else goes through this experience.

They are on disk - aren't they ALL "digital editions"? There are tons of software out there to change from one digital format to another - maybe I'm not understanding how this is different.

    Re: Wall-E Digital Copy Woes

Hmmm...I got the same thing about the latest edition of WMV and thought I did have the most recent version so I just figured I'd try again later or on a different computer. Now I'm curious and will try later today.

This will just be "one more thing" that frustrates me about the purchase of Wall-E. I went ahead and got it at Walmart based on their online price for the 3 disc set ($22.99 I think?). oops. Their in-store price was $34.99. And I had my 4 year old with me who knew that Wall-E was out that day so I had to purchase it. I got around this a bit by still ordering a copy "site to store" online and when I picked up the online order, I returned it using my store purchased receipt.

But the other reason I went with Walmart was that I was supposed to get a code for 11 online games. I looked at every package in the store and I was there in the morning it came out and no package had a special sticker. I asked an employee who called someone and was told that the information is inside the box. Super! Except it wasn't. Grrrr. Oh well, my kids play on the computer too much anyway...

Sorry for the slight de-rail...back to the original topic:

Anyone actually able to put it on their computer?
I love my awesome crazy wonderful friends!!

To cover Sambo's question, when you go to install the digital edition on a device (PC, iPod, whatever), it goes through an authentication process which requires a code which came with the DVD package.

However, when you get to the page where you enter in the code, it quickly flashes to a new page which claims you do not have the most recent version of WMV, and then it stalls there.

I took the Itunes route for this but the 3 disc package didn't contain the code needed so I had to call them up to get one over the phone. Their phone support was helpful so they should be able to let you know what ya need to do to get it fixed.

You'll need to install the Updated Security Components for WMP. Be sure to follow the directions to a T, there's a link to the update on the first page.

Nyah, that's already updated; something else is amiss. I'll try giving them a call tomorrow and see if they know what the deal is.

I went the iTunes route when I put it on the BF's MacBook. Worked like a charm with no issues. Now he needs to bring it back over so we can install The Dark Knight.

I'm actually having issues getting it activiated. Keeps telling me that the activation website is not found or a DNS error. Anybody else getting this???

Even the help website isn't found, which leads me to believe Disney is having issues with the site.

I had no problems doing it through iTunes and putting it on my iPod. Sorry to hear about your issues,

Yeah, I inserted it with my Itunes open and it came right up.

ETA, I did my Dark Knight with no problem too.

But ... I went to do my Journey to the Center of the Earth, and they want $1.99 to download my digital copy. What a crock. Turns out JTTCOTE is for Windows Media Player only.

Sounds like typical Windows. I loaded the Itunes version, and though they forgot to include the code in the package, a quick e-mail to Disney Customer Care, and I had the authentication code i needed.

So convert it from WMV to MP4...

Probably need to buy a program though as I know of no freeware for the Mac that will do it. Free is the Antichrist for Mac.

its probably wmv for the DRM options... hence converting not really an option.

We use Cucusoft to convert DVD's to the Ipod - never had a problem with it.

Will trade husband for Disneyland and DCA Pins!
