Blow up this image?

Hi everyone. I'm trying to make some shirts for me and our daughter to wear when we pick my husband up from the airport when he returns from deployment. It won't be happening until July, but, I knew I'd run into problems and gave myself LOTS of time. Here's the first problem, and hopefully, the last...

I'm using Cafepress, the same company that does Micechat's merchandise. I need this image:

To go on the back of the shirt. It's only showing up at a size of 3 inches. The shirt can hold an image at 10 by 10 inches. So, I contacted the company, and it seems my image has to be made the correct size before uploading to the site. Problem is...I have NO clue how to accomplish that. I have been playing around on my computer and still haven't figured it out. I would appreciate ANY help! THANK YOU!

you can download a free program such as Irfanview and use it to resize your image to those exact specifications then save the image in its new size

on the main pain there's a Download Now box on the right hand side, click that and it should tkae you to the CNET dowload page and you get the download there

If you resize the image from 3x3 to a 10x10 without any type of smoothing or even vectorization, then you'll get a very pixelated and grainy image. Infraview is just a simple image viewer with basic editing capabilities, not photoshop.

Easiest way to get a good image is probably yes, resize it using Infraview, then redraw it either by hand or with another program to give you a high quality image.

Pixels. Each pixel has a certain color to it. There are 130x122 pixels in the image you supplied. Depending on the DPI (Dots Per Inch) that you have your printer set at, it will change how many pixels are used in each square inch. So say you have 20 pixels of a rainbow in a one inch square, it would look okay. If you put those same 20 pixels of a rainbow in a ten inch square, it would spread out those colors even more, without adding any kind of transition between each pixel. This would create a step effect which usually isn't desired.

let me check. I used Sir Clinks to get it up to 6 inches. Still ratgher small though. Here's what i got....




DPI.....for my size shirt....all it says is 10 X 10, 42k
For my daughter's....same thing.

Another little thing that may cause a snag for you. Photobucket resizes images. Clink's host does not resize images I believe. So for a final copy it may need to be emailed.
