Netflix Instant streaming added to Windows Media Center - woohoo

Gizmodo - Netflix Instant Streaming Coming to Windows Media Center on Your PC - Microsoft media center netflix

This is huge. If you have WMC.. which most Vista users have built in.. you can now watch Netflix direct on your PC. This expands the audience like crazy!

You could watch netflix on your pc already.

(funny, the iPhone doesn't want to spell pc. It autocorrects to of.)

Yes, but this is slicker, ties into HTPCs and media extenders if you have them.

I actually think the Netflix Player is pretty slick.

I don't have time to read the article, but I'm going to assume you still need a netflix subscription.

yes, no change in that. Just expanding the 'device' list. They have all the major touch points covered now.. consoles (xbox, ps3), pcs, macs, and an ever growing list of set top boxes.

The nice thing about this version is you don't have to have the movies in your queue first.. you can browse the library (something I can't do on my xbox)

The experience is top notch.. I just wish they could break through on the whole library front.

This is great news that they are expanding things, honestly, I just wish their "instant" movie options were a little better than what they have. You really have to dig and as a person who watches TV shows, they might have Season 5 of a show I like but not 1-4 so that becomes a pain sometimes, I just have them sent in the mail and watch them like that.

Thanks for the news though, maybe I'll add it to my work PC. LOL

I prefer not to watch movies on my 'puter. I have the bigscreen and comfy chair for that. But I suppose those who watch videos on their phones wouldn't care...a computer monitor is a big step up.

And many people (including I) have their computer on their big screen

I use it less now tho.. since the codec expansion on the xbox... I can play most of my videos stored on the PC via the xbox now.
