MiceChat To Go - A mobile browser thread.

Ok gang, I just wanna know who here has mobile and/or wireless access via a Pocket PC/Smartphone or Palm device?

I just upgraded my Pocket PC to a Dell Axim x50v, and the VGA screen on it is sweet! I just found a great VGA capable internet browser called Netfront.

    Download link is here.

Finally being able to browse the net with a VGA screen on a Pocket PC is nice!

So anyone else got a pocket gadget?
    Happy Anniversary, MiceChat!

70% of my MiceChat visits are on my iPaq rx3115, and Dell Axim X5. Hand from Bed/other WiFi places.

I use my Sidekick when I'm out and about the world to check MC. I actually updated a whole thread with my SK on 7/17.

I use my Dell Azim X50V to browse wherever I can. I find hot spots everywhere! I don't use a "special" browser, just the IE that was installed. Is there a big difference with this other browser?

Re: MiceChat To Go - A mobile browser thread.

I have the HP iPAQ hx4705 but bought it for Pocket Word document creation and address book/organizer duties. I've never tried to use the HotSpot access or web browser - never really thought they'd be able to cram enough info on the screen to properly translate a webpage, and I'm leery of using un-trusted 'open' wireless connections (I wired my house with CAT-5e) - I may have to rethink that...

For some more horsepower, I got an EVDO Broadband Access card for my Pavillion dv1100 Laptop, and it's Darned Fast.

Using it right now, in fact - four phone lines in the house, and the only one that got wet and went out is the one with the DSL line on it. And the earliest repair commit date that SBC gave is Saturday.

I was just checking this product out(Dell Axim x50v) and was coming here to ask questions about it...LOL

so, when you have a hot spot and are able to get the internet can you type and search and do all regular internet stuff with it?

    Pretty much.

The browsers for Pocket PCs aren't as robust, but they do a fair job. You can pretty much go anywhere on the web.

It's a bit slower than surfing on a PC, but hey, I think it's worth it for the portability!
