Want out of a T-Mobile contract?

T-Mobile is raising their overage rates effective Sept 01 which is a material adverse change to the contract and gives you the right to cancel with no early termination fee.

Re: Want out of a T-Mobile contract?

    Thank you John!!!

Crap, I just paid my bill this morning.

The ONLY problem I have with T-mobile is the reception in my house. Other than that it's fine (alhtough it has gotten better since they installed a new tower about 1/2 mile away).

I'm hoping I can opt out of my contract and be able to get a new phone from them without having to pay full price. Mine is totally falling apart.

Re: Want out of a T-Mobile contract?

So you want to hear something funny about this:

I call T-Mobile on Friday and very quickly they said that yes, I can get out of my contract. I also asked if I could just get another phone with them and they said yes, just to go into any store. Sweet.

So I go in the store, they call Customer Service to confirm, etc. Then they said that I have to get the phone from them on the phone, that I can't in the store. Huh

Then, while talking to the phone-rep they said that yes, I can get the discount, but I can't get the mail-in-rebate for the Blackberry Flip. They said it was because it hasn't been 22 months since I've used a mail-in rebate.

So I said that I could go to another company, get any phone I want with the full discount and get out of my contract, but I can't stay with the same company I've been with for years and get the same thing. That they were willing to let me go, rather than give me a discount. They said yes.

So I'm going to Verizon today.

Oh, and as an aside, my phone screen just stopped working on Saturday (the phone works, the screen doesn't). That's some kind of sign I think.

Verizon? Really? I don't like them for the fact they cripple features on their phones to make you pay for their services.

And as many complaints I've heard about AT&T/Cingular, I've been with them for almost 10 years and have never had a problem with them.

    The things I don't miss because I don't have a cellphone
It's actually "Cars Land", not "Carsland".

I like my Nextel phone. Of course it is owned by Sprint now. Luckilly I never have had to call customer service.
