I need help fast with Microsoft Word

Today when I fired up Microsoft Word, the cursor is starting by default half way down the page. Does anyone know how to stop this from happening because I have a few papers to write and I can't do anything at present.

what are your margins set as? perhaps you have a very large margin set and is causing the cursor/type starting too far down the page?

could also be a very large header problem...

what the system does from default is determined by your normal.dot document template. Brute force is to just find that file and delete it while word isn't running. Without one, Word will just create a new one with default values.

Yea, I ended up killing my registry for word and deleting that folder. What the problem appeared to be was a large header but the header settings weren't wrong and the paragraph settings were set to the top. It was a mystery but thanks for the input. Ironic that I got help here faster than I did at Dell, Microsoft and even at apple where i threw the question in!
