I cannot put mine down, this phone is great, super fast web, easy to use, cool apps, durable.

What about battery life? How long until a need for a charge?

Battery life has been good, I usually plug my phone in to charge at night and I'm usually at 40%-50%.

I get a load of emails, mostly junk sent to my Gmail account, because the Droid syncs to Gmail accounts it drains the battery a bit quicker. I'm usually down to 10-25% at the end of the day.

If I didn't get my Blackberry last Christmas, I'd be all over this phone.

    Re: Motorola Droid

My old at&t flip phone was on life support the last couple of weeks, and with that i finally decided to go with internet access, so this was the way to go! I'm still trying to figure it out, and transfer my phone number to the new phone.

Are there any any recommended applications, add on's that are recommended?

If this phone looked like R2-D2, I might consider getting it.

Speaking of that ... if you look at the bottom of the Droid commercials it says something like "Droid is a registered trademark of Lucasfilms LTD.".

So apparently Lucas owns the name Droid?

On verizon.com I had my contacts uploaded from my old phone, then just downloaded them to the new one. I would call customer service and they should be able to walk you through it.

    Re: Motorola Droid

So, all you Droid users, are you liking the new 2.0.1 software update?

I just updated this morning, so I haven't really gotten a chance to play around with it much, but I like the new "locked" screen. Instead of a slide wheel, there's a slider similar to the iPhone slider, you swipe right horizontally if you want to unlock, and left horizontally if you want to mute the phone.
